Also, double Gauss Cataphract 3D and gaussJager and boomJagers are going to be everywhere this weekend, just waiting for someone to strip a mech before going clickboomwin for the kill shot.

Yep, bought the Phoenix package on preorder back in the day. At least six of the twelve mechs ranged from merely disappointing to full out worthless. Can't sell the phoenix variants, but you can sell the other trash if you're never going to use it. It's the number one reason I didn't bother buying a clan pack, and instead just bought a Stormcrow.

Just get in and play bunches. Give it a good go.
I think there's plenty in this game to be negative about, but this sounds like a fun little challenge to win something you usually have to pay cash money for, so why not be happy for a change?

And this is the problem. You probably need the mechbay. I have 106 mechs in 117 mechbays. I don't need another one. And I'll get 20 kills tonight.
I'd give it to you if I could.

That just made me really sad.....Why is there no gifting function PGI!

If PGI implements a gifting function, I will send you a dual AC/20 Jaegar. That will get you 20 kills.

the ac20 fire rate is so slow you will be dead before your third shot/trigger pull
I had a AC20 Jager on the training range earlier today and at 800M the hits made sparks but did no damage, I then opened up with my AC2's and then there was damage
what is a boomJagers anyway?

BoomJaegar is a dual AC/20 wielding Jaegarmech (all Jaegars can do it). AC/20s optimal range is 270m, past 540m you do 0 damage. The 40 upfront damage (50 if you also have 2 med lasers but the extra 10 damage is spread over 1 second) is enough to one shot kill any mech through cockpit damage, kill or maim pretty much any light or medium mech, or deal heavy damage to any heavy or assault. A few volleys will reduce most mechs to trash even after all the nerfs heaped upon the build and it's still pretty much 'easy mode' for this game so it's regularly used for the challenges like the one on now. With near max armour and a decent XL, it can torso twist after it's shots to spread damage well and can push up to near enemy positions, then fire on them as it moves between cover, slowing when out of the fight to cool down. They're still terrifying mechs to come up against when they're not charging across open terrain against you but focusing on one side torso does bring them down quick, like all XL IS mechs.

A Boom Jager is simply the best ambush 'Mech in the game! Even Direwolves are in trouble if they get in under 300 m. 40 pinpoint damage every 4 seconds? They are a hoot!
They've been largely replaced by Dual Gauss Jagers, though, as they are much more versatile. Still, they don't make the satisfying bangs and booms of dual AC/20. That's the real reason you play a Boom Jager!
