Bad Challenges/contests Encouraging Bad Pug Play

This is supposed to be team play, so why the heck not have challenges be scored on NUMBER OF ASSISTS, instead of 20 kills, make it 100 assists? Instead of score only being counted when "solo" have the score count in both team and solo based play?
Every time you do one of these challenges, "team play" in the pug realm goes to absolute ****. People start shooting through teammates to try and steal a kill, or go all "rambozo" and try and kill 12 people all by themselves, or as bad, sit back for half the match while the rest of the team dies and then try and do a clean up run on the damaged enemy.
These challenges and contests need to ENCOURAGE team play in the community, not put it under temporary suspension. I'm tired of having my back cored out, or getting TK'd, or having to attempt to jerk my fire away from some ****** who decided it'd be a good idea to jump in front of me to get that cored Atlas in front of me.
Seriously, you have GOT to better on this...

ive maybe kill 5 people a week, if im lucky, so this really sets me back, im a support and spot player,
for this chalange im useless, and it bothers me abit that it feels like they are forcing players to play,
as Assaults or Heavys to get (Kills) and 20 of them, all pugs that dont own the mechs will run trials,
most matches ive been in have been populated with Victors or Orions,

As for new players in trial mechs.... oh man are they gonna have a rough time completing this if they CAN at all.

Kills in the group queue count towards the challenge.

Yes in a way. And if I misread and it does include kills from the group queue, that's a first and good on them for doing so.

After that back to 3-5 minute wait times, for games that had lag spikes in each and everyone, matched with players that were lucky if they managed 50 damage.
Game i just came out of, 2 of my team died in the first 30 seconds, one in a medium the other in a heavy, the rest didn't fair much better.
Tell me PGI, how exactly am i supposed to complete the challenge if my team in each and every game fail to last more than 2 minutes leaving me to battle 6+ mechs at one time?.
Forget the challenge and just gift the mechbay to anyone that logged in this weekend.
