Because of the Steiner event people are piloting their IS mechs instead of Clans. And I am absolutely loving it. Does anyone feel the vast difference without the Clans as majority in matches?

Most of this morning there have been maybe 1 or 2 Clan mechs on a side. And it's pretty great.

Not sure if I can feel the difference. Still seeing Dire whales often in the matches with their dakka dakkas or pew pews.
Been seeing a whole lot more missiles flying around lately though.

Kicking the Clans arse with an Awesome with SRMs? Priceless.

You know the Awesome has actually gotten better... when ripping off the sides like an Atlas is actually the norm.

best was the direwhale i got behind and cored him out before he could turn around :)

Is that the reason I am killing more today than normal?

It almost feels like like clubbing baby seals at times. :)

I've alternated
most are close matches but I'm seeing plenty of clan mechs with a few stomps (usually when I wind up on team derp or am facing team derp)

Saw you in a river city day match that de-synced badly. That map seems to de-sync all the time, never seems to happen on to me on other maps.

One of my best kill was when i jump off a cliff with my mad cat and shoot out an alpha shot of my 2X srm6+artemis and 2X srm 4+artemis to the face of a boomjaeger....he died before i touched the ground 0.5 sec later....never like those variants with med or small mechs lol so i couldnt resist to make him an alpha to the face

Tourmaline and Frozen City night are two maps I've experienced some epic rubberbanding on.

I logged on for about five matches last night in the solo queue. Half the mechs, from griffins on up, were lrm boats.

Radar derp and using cover solved the LRM problem.

I liked the hyper-brawly play this challenge brought forth. Playing with two teams being aggressive was amazing, and needs to happen more. Awesomes and Banshees were dominating the fields, so that's not something you see every day. I got into some real nail-biter duels with other lights in my Locust. Many funny moments, such as a Commando about to lose to me deciding to splat himself over the cliff rather than give me a kill, or me rolling half an over-eager enemy team with a b33fy-styled airstrike called onto myself to similarly deny a kill. Also solo'd two Dire Waffles in an LCT-3S as the last man standing vs. 6: I killed one and the timer ran down before the other one and his team-mates could kill me.

Great, great night...

...Until I tried playing heavies. After that, I started getting dropped with and against CSJ and other more competitive groups. 95 damage in a JM6-DD? 12-3/3-12 roflstomps? Laaaaaaaaaaame.

Feels good to be playing a slightly more balanced game atm, at least until everyone gets their 20 wins and goes back to their TBRs, and DWFs. There's just no mech more effective in their tonnage brackets and it shows.
