Any Special Reason For Cn9-D Over Shd?

I've mastered a SHD-2D2 and recently bought a CN9-D, but I'm starting to regret it.

I absolutely hated the CN9-D and could never find a load out that worked well for me. The only reasons why I had to pick up the D was I didn't want to spend cash on a Wang and PGI cut the CN9-AH from the roster. At the time that left only the CN9-A, CN9-AL and CN9-D available (w/o cash) to get to elite using Centurions.

I'd run in like this just to piss people off with the chain fired AC2s.

My two most successful builds the the 9D. Really the only Cent with any reason to run it over the phoenix mediums is the A, and even that's a stretch (zombie capable, all SRM's come from the same point, very durable).

The CN9-A made a good SRM boat, but the Griffin does a much better job at that now and has jump jets. If you stick with ballistics, the high mounted ballistics on the SHD are superior to the CN9 arm mounts.
Really the only thing a CN9 (sans XL engine) has going for it is its superior zombie ability. Centurions can take a hell of a beating and still keep fighting.

I've gotten down to 22% left with an XL'd Cent. Lost a leg and both arms

I was a late convert to Centurions and the 9D is my favourite mech by far and my best-performing one for k/d. I like it because it survives well, especially if you torso twist a lot. I run mine with an AC2 and AC5 combination which has good range and you can keep up a good rate of fire. Two medium lasers in the CT as backup/extra damage/for when you lose your arms. XL 300 gives a decent speed so you can get around the back of heavier mechs and give chase to lights. Just work around the sides of the fight and don't take anything on head-on!

You can do a similar build to the Cent D. The Cent A is the best Zombie in the game.

Both of them are outclassed by the Stormcrow.

Doing anything outside of that is a waste of its ability to be an effective Light escort and anti-large mech nuisance.

Its just that SRMs were bad for a long time after the "mega nerf" and so many other 'mechs have come out since.
but I think currently, this one would perform overall better

Its just a matter of wanting to brawl or being really good at cradling your arm from damage.
DONT SELL THE XL300!

Unless what you really want is an XL engine high-speed Centurion, no, there's no reason for a Centurion D over.... pretty much anything else, really. Shadowhawk or not.
