Got a few kills in my BLR-1S, but found that tagging and firing my LRMs directly just meant I got to tank for the other LRM boats. Did five kills in my Cataphract 3D
Did the last 8 kills in my JM6-S with AC10x2 and 4xMlas.

Did the other kills in a variety of firestarters, thunderbolts, and other mechs I'd been thinking of selling.

I found this challenge to be quite frustrating. Took me about 12 matches to get to 8 kills, and then I said screw it and quit trying to play like my teammates or a match win mattered. I started to do what the other players were doing, using my teammates as shields, and refusing to expose myself to trade shots with anyone who wasn't about to die. Had a four kill match in my 3D and JM-6S doing that, which was almost half the total needed just from two matches.

The moral lesson from this challenge was that your teammates only exist to eat shots and leave enemy mechs with cherry red CT for you to finish off.

Worst part, people are still playing like that. The assualts are hiding, waiting for everyone else to do the damage and then they mop up to get their K/D ratio up. Very frustrating.

I did all the games solo which was pretty painfull.

I tried SRM Griffin/Hawk/Wolverine, but after a few games with lots of MadCats ruining my day very fast and the teams beeing very crazy i switched the mechs.

I tried PPC Awesome, but then got maps like Alpine, where it was just too far to hit anything and clans and LRMs had the upper hand.
Then I switched to 4LL, 3ML Awesome build and got Terra Therma, and my first 5 kills.
A few more quick losses without success and I switched to my Orion, 2ML/2LL/ac10/SRM6.
Quite ok, but nothing wanted to die, as I suddendly had a team that killed stuff faster then the enemy.

Switched the loadout to 2PPC/2ML/AC10 to also test out the new PPC speeds in a more brawly fashion.
With this I got into TT again and had some shootouts in the 500m range of the inner ring, got a few kills more.

A few more losses and a day later, I tried the 2AC2/2AC5 Jaeger again, but this didn't fair well enough in the next few matches. Lots of crazy pushes from the enemies and split teams on our side made it hard to kill anything.

for Sunday I build a LRM30/Laser Thunderbolt and tried to stay more defensive and got the last few kills.

In general, these events are very painfull playing solo. I dislike playing on these weekends (this time it was not solo only tho)
Either your team all tries to get kills and fails horribly because of reckless playstyle, or there are too many players not interested in the challenge (like all the clan mechs) making it even harder.

I didnt have as much game time available this weekend so I did ot get to do the challenge on all of our Clans shared accounts but I did manage to get my own acct done and two of our alt accounts.

I used the BNC3E with 3xAC5 and 4xML on my acct
JR7 with 4xML SRM4 on an alt
VTR9B on a third.

Pugged in each case.

TBT-7M mostly. Supplemented with 5 or 6 from GRF-3M and QKD-4H.

Had fun in the 7M. It was the same mech I used to get my "Operation 24" hanging cockpit decoration.

QuickDraw 4H with 3 SRM 6s and 4 Med Lasers. Had a great time in the QD. Blew myself up once on River City after sneaking up on a Stalker LRM Boat and stripping its weps. Good Times.

i used all of the mechs on the list that I owned.
I would run one, get some kills, until I got the 1st win of the day bonus, then moved to the next one.

On day 2, my 1st match, I was 5 kills away and ran a Battlemaster. Got all 5 in one match. Happy to get the bay, sad that i did not get to use all the mechs that I owned that were listed. I continued to play using all of them anyway in the same manner I had been doing.

I saw a LOT of assault mechs, Battlemasters, Awesomes (prolly because of the recent tweaks), Stalkers and Victors.

Good little challenge. Maybe next time they will not only require kills but also a number of assists to encourage team work more. It was a lot like feeding time at the piranha tank when a mech was close to death.

Tried a number of different mechs, ended up doing the bulk with a battlemaster blr-1g(p). Dropped the PPC for an ERLL and turned into the bringer of death. (ERLLx1, MLx6, MGx2, LRM10x1 with enough DHS to keep it cool.) I usually lead the charge and scared the bejesus out of the enemy team trying to hide/kill-steal. Hunted down more than one LRM-boat stalker.

At first I hated the challenge until I loaded up the battlemaster and decided to not care about getting kills. After that it became so much easier.

With a few open Mech bays already, I started out the event in my Nova and wracked up 6 kills... THEN I remembered the limitations on Mechs that needed to be used... then switched over to my Dire Cow for the majority of the weekend.

While another empty bay would have been nice... I just didn't see the need to go for it and the frustration that went along with it trying to get one... LOL...

I did about 95% of it in my Thunderbolt TDR-9S, mostly because I hadn't completed my basic efficiencies on it yet, and I amazed myself at how well I did in that thing. I did better than I generally do in my clan mechs, and I used a type of build I rarely use with my main armament being the recently nerfed dual PPCs. I ended up with a positive KD ratio for that mech, which is rare for me.

I did a laser Awesome and an lrm Awesome. Did 2-3 kills the each of my first 4 matches, then went 3 matches with no kills, then did the rest on a 1-2 kill per match.
