How is this even close to balanced compared to a Spider 5V? Especially given the recent JJ nerfs. The 5V runs so hot with its ONE advantage... a huge pile of JJ. This thing can do nearly what a 5V can do, with better hardpoints for the Medium lasers (deflection shots) AND a NARC or SRM for support or punch.

Just wow...

Yep, wish it was my video. But it definitely entertained me and brought some new life and ideas for having actual fun in MWO, something I'm finding seriously lacking as of late.

So you'll see my own Urban Mech vid in the near future.

I'm liking the hardpoint combination here. It'll seriously struggle to use the hardpoints, but if it does use them all it'll be a rival to the Ember for certain.

I shall turn it...into an urban mech.

Best movie of 2014 and proof that Urbie is an viable mech. :)

Balancing against the 5V is a bad idea, because the 5V is currently a steaming pile of ****. The correct way to balance a hero Spider is to balance it against the ECM variant, the 5D. That way we ensure that the hero is actually somewhat viable, rather than yet another lemon to join the trash bin.

I'm actually happy with this Hero. It's the best Spider (due to hardpoint variety and ability to load out NARC) after the ECM variant.

The 5V is such a DOG though, it needs love. The only place it's good is 3025 Stock mech matches, where it's possibly the best scout mech available, especially if you've got speed tweak.

Yeah, the 5V certainly is the poster child of mechs that need quirking...

I.e. giving it actual horizontal JJ thrust might make it nice at trolling from mid-air, with falling damage reduction built-in, etc.

I noticed the guy in the video is putting nearly every shot on target, a skill to be admired. I'm sure he's not in my Elo bracket. (I don't know why I'm in my Elo bracket. I can hit the broad side of a barn if I go into the barn.)

...And the UrbanMech hardly takes any damage, even when that ShadowHawk turns his way and outguns him a lot.
Exploit much?

Moving too slow for HSR to keep up with it? But at that speed landing shots on target is easy. Also it keeps flashing from game to game so we weren't shown any bad moments.

Bet that SRM4 gets swapped for Streaks.

Idea 1.
Idea 2 shoves a Gauss Rifle on it.
Idea 3 shoves a UAC/5 on it.
Idea 4 shoves an LRM-10 in the middle.

Well I have had a fantastically fun time grinding my Anansi to Speedtweak that I just unlocked Lots of UAV spam but I call these stats a success considering it was going 129kph

Been running a near stock loadout of 2ML 2MG SRM6 and 2AMS http://mwo.smurfy-ne...eeaac3c432cb23e

Only gonna get more frantic now that it goes 142kph instead of 129kph

270xl, 2MG 2 ML 1 Streak, 2 AMS....works fine for me. A Firestarter with a Streak and 10kph more Speed. Better than the 4MG Spider. I hope I can Test her in 1vs1 soon.

Please, someone, stream an Anansi vs Ember 1 on 1 private match, I want to see how the two mechs with the most broken hit boxes / detection fare against each other. Make sure the pilots are good in lights, this fight would actually require skill, not the ability to exploit flaws in the game design. And no, I am not a good light mech pilot, not even in one of these broken mechs.

Mycrus and Kid Tijid are booked in.

Both these F8'ers are exceptional light pilots
