It all depends on how small or fast this thing goes. This could be nasty infighter, or it could be a complete waste

IS

6 Light, 9 Medium, 7 Heavy, 7 Assault.

a light would have been more logical.

To be fair, most Inner Sphere mech designs are mediums by sheer numbers.

I definatelly want to get these, and depending on the hard points and quirks, I might get the hero.

I would have gotten the battlemaster hero, but the hard points were not to my liking

Because medium mechs are supposed to be by far the most common mechs on the battlefield. The only problem we have is they aren't as effective as light mechs in MWO when they are supposed to be MORE effective.

If you ask me PGI is doing it right by creating so many. In my opinion they just need to re-scale mediums and re-size their hitboxes so they live a little longer.

Looks like the left arm will be effective as a shield, while the right arm will be nicely tucked behind the shoulder and tough to hit. Not sure if it means PGI is becoming more strategic with mech designs, but I like.

Anyone know which variants and hardpoints Vindicator is likely to have?

;)

We don't know what variants, but one of the most likely will result in the loss of the shield arm: the 1X (the only one with ballistics) has its machine gun in its left arm.

Since the IS has 9 mediums we can expect to see more of the other weight classes. Here's my guesses:

Flea (Already announced, just delayed due to MASC being MIA)
Javelin (With fixed missile systems this makes the most sense to use em)
Urbanmech (if it will shut people up then throw it in there) But they should go for the Hermes (lots of variants)

Guillotine (70 tonner with LosTech upgrades, fast with jump jets good alternate to the phracts)
Black Knight (Iconic battlemech, very homogenous but that didn't stop the Vindicator)

Mauler (Already somewhat confirmed by the devs via twitter, ballistic menace)
King Crab (Iconic non humanoid assault mech, dual AC20 shenanigans, will be dubbed the zoidberg)

I've been kinda feeling bored in MWO lately. I have several chassis spread over the weight classes, even got the Timber Wolf and Summoner. However I was getting bored with grinding C-Bills constantly just to be able to do things. So, I decided to run the trial mechs out of frustration at this feeling. By running the blackjack and shadow hawk I have re-found my love for the IS mediums, originally stemming from piloting the Hunchback (which everyone just pops the hunch immediately with concentrated fire so its no fun anymore, I beg PGI to give the hunch higher survivability, just that specific part with a better quirk) and the Kintaro (have not played since the SRMs went to crap, figure I'll pick that one up again now too).

This Vindicator may actually end up being the first mech I buy a Hero for once I see it in action and the details on the chassis themselves. It reminds me of a commando, but more evil.

Please keep up the concept art releases, and go back and do ones for the existing mechs. Its always awesome to see the concept recolors/reworks that people do with unit colors, emblems, etc.

Only if they actually include that flash smile on the inside of the missile bay doors. I want to wink at my enemies before I splash them in the face with my srm6. Smell my flower?

Any chance we could get a 1080p wallpaper of this? I can set it on my background as is, but...black borders don't suit it. If not PGI, then anyone else want to do it?

Also, from what my Battletech buddies were saying, this mech may end up being a mid-range hit and run guerrilla fighter.

Maybe, but the Hermes II offers a bit more variety even ignoring things like more common lore wise and hussar's all energy loadouts prior to the Clanbuster.

Hermes? Hussar? Nuts to both of these. Gimme a Javelin or a Panther.
