Great artwork as usual. Smiley face is a nice touch.

Can't wait to see the load outs / hard points. I had hoped the BJ-A was going to have Missiles, but now I get my 45 ton Missile toting medium mech after all.

Jody

When the BJ-2 comes out in 3052, your wish will be granted. 2xERLLaser, 4xSSRM2

Yay

Gonna get my 1R back after so long.

hmm, lets see.

1R. PPC Ra, Med Lsr La, Sml Lsr H, LRM5 Lt
1X. as above, drop Sml Lsr for MG.
3L. ER PPC Ra, Med Pulse La, LRM5 LT, Sml Lsr H

and the hero of course

You reversed the locations of the lasers, but correct otherwise. Also, the -3L doesn't come out until 3051. We'll probably end up with the -1R, -1X, -1AA (Avenging Angel -- larger engine, but almost half the armor), and the -1SIC (large laser instead of PPC, larger LRM rack). The last variant makes me wonder, though, why the St. Ives Compact isn't an available faction.

I just wanted to say thanks for the feedback about my suggested 'Mechs, too bad about the licensing!

I love the Hammerhands idea though, but again too bad because it wasn't re-introduced until the Jihad : /

Is PGI staying at 3050 or are they going to introduce things as time goes on? Or are they just going to jump to the next era (FCCW) at some point?

If they jump to the FC Civil War, we'll miss things like the Refusal War and Operation Bulldog, so I hope they don't do that.

Funny thing about the Vindicator being announced: I was actually hoping on Tuesday that they would bring it out at some point. Maybe I should hope for the Unseen problem to be resolved...

Maybe, but the Hermes II offers a bit more variety even ignoring things like more common lore wise and hussar's all energy loadouts prior to the Clanbuster.

Herme and Hermes II are two totally separate mechs, with the II being a Medium.

Good design, but this not a mech, that can upper chances of IS in "IS vs Clans".
We need some heavy/assault mech with 2+ ballistic locations + some energy...

Clan vs IS is more of a pilot problem and that we are not playing 12v10 yet. The medium mech is the most common on the battlefield in this time frame and the most abundant in designs. The fact that PGI is pushing mediums right now and increasing their variety is a plus in my book and I am excited for this mech. This isn't a thread for 'this mech is garbage cause it isn't a full counter against the clans', its a thread to discuss the Vindicator design. Also, the IS doesn't develop counter mechs for the clans for a couple years still, so keep your pants on and just wait.

I am truly appreciating the effort in developing shiny new mechs, but please focus on much much more variety regarding new gaming experience meaning new maps. Hopefully anyone responsible is recognizing that demand one day.

Good question. I think the intent is to have the real world move at the BTtime speed 1 for 1. So in theroy it would be another 2 years for the Wardog. But they also indicated that it would not be out of the question to do some jumps forward in time. They might even be able to support multiple time lines where you can only bring certain mechs based off that time line. Time will tell as CW is rolled out piece by piece.

Hope they don't cap the engine size to 180.

I'm all for it. The Cappies' main workhorse is a welcome edition.

However, if this is in any way eating into the time or resources needed to make Community Warfare, new maps, or new game modes, then I don't want it to happen.

CW is priority number one, and like I have told you guys, I'm happy to support the game if I have reason to believe that I'm going to see the bill of goods we were presented in Beta, but that bill of goods is now about two years overdue.

I'm a single player gamer, and the CW carrot on a stick is the only reason I chose to not give up on MWO. Hell, the main reason I never cared about MWLL is because it's the same as MWO is now - a bunch of matches that make no difference in the long run and it doesn't do squat for immersion into the setting.

I always love the concept art PGI, it looks great!

That being said I'm not sure I want a 45 ton medium that has a top speed of 64.8 and extremely limited hardpoints... But who knows, maybe it will still be effective!

I know it won't be canon to the timeline, but I hope to see the 5L and the 3LD Vindicator Dao.

...

Now if only we could get a:

Longbow: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Longbow

War Dog: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/War_Dog

and Warhammer: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Warhammer
(pretty sure that was what was in the MW5 trailer before it became MWO: http://youtu.be/nJU4iA4TWIs).

If anything the Warhammer guys, I've been waiting for that thing ever since I watched that trailer!

The Warhammer's never coming because of Harmony Gold, they've stated as such (well, not the Harmony Gold part, but no more unseen).

The only mech I've asked for...even knowing it will be nothing at all like I remember from MW2: Mercs, I will be grabbing this one instantly, all variants... is it the 19th yet?

We will definitely get the VND-1R and perhaps the VND-1AA and 1X.

The 3L is stretching it, but possible since it's a 3051 design and doesn't use anything we don't already have in the game.

The 1SIC is possible as it's in the timeline. The 1AA might be hard to spec out, as it's faster but has less armor, so it's hard to represent with hardpoints the way MWO works, and if engine size is the only difference between the 1R And the 1AA, the 1R is fairly useless. Then again, the 3L isn't that different from the 1R and 1AA (Missing a laser) as far as hardpoints go, though it's got a few upgrades tech wise.

Honestly, if they went 1AA, 1X, 3L, and then the 1SIC as the hero, it might work pretty well, or go 1AA, 1X, and 1SIC, and make up a hero. I really hope they include the 1AA, as a faster 45 ton mech would be nice (sadly lore wise, the phoenix hawk was the mech that filled that role, and did it well enough few other mechs were ever that fast in that tonnage, and none really in the current timeline, and we're not getting that mech). It might be strange to not include the 1R, but it's fairly redundant with all the other variants, particularly the 1AA (where you could build a 1R out of by swapping out the engine for armor)
