Spartan is possible, but not likely since all 3 variants are nearly identical.
Excalibur is the same story. Possible, but not enough difference between variants for it to be likely.
Exterminator needs Null and Chameleon, neither of which are in game yet.

I'm thinking of going more brawly with it, and using 3xMPL, 2xASRM-6 with a standard engine.

too slow for me to want to be a dedicated brawler, because it won't be able to disengage. It's definitely "stick with the big boys" medium.

yeah StillRadioactive, that might be true on These mechs but it still would be a nice Thing to have them =) not necessarily 3 variants because in my opinion, this whole skill thing needs to be changed. idea is good but 3 variants? it's nothing but annoying...

and many People would been surprised i guess =)

Well, apparently there's a discrepancy between the English and German announcements. The Germans get 2 missile hardpoints, the English language version says there's only one.

I'll just have to see how it goes when the server comes back up.

Someone on Reddit did a fantastic job of compiling the list of every timeline-appropriate 'mech with at least 3 variants that PGI could put in game.
http://www.reddit.co..._model_in_3049/

My money is on Javelin, Whitworth, Guillotine and Hatamoto-Chi for the IS 'mechs.
Mist Lynx, Battle Cobra, Mad Dog and Gargoyle for the Clans.

I really don't like SRM's on IS Mediums.

I don't feel they're sturdy enough to fight at less than 100m and at those ranges they may just be getting in the firing arcs of their bigger/harder hitting teammates.

That'd probably be an empty missile slot for me cause - it is hardly viable to bring LRM's in less than 20. (30 really, 20 is generous)

javelin,,, more Missile mechs *sigh* no. there are already too many for my taste. i actually wonder where these mechs can hold 2k+ LRM's... Stalker might doing it but seeing many nova's/stormcrows running around with nothing else but lrms there should be a capacity Limit to that... anyway.

withworth and hatamoto-chi are definetly worth putting in =)
and thanks for that list.
i hoped that the nainokami/mauler would been there too

Javelin isn't nearly big enough for LRMs, it would almost certainly be a streak-boat.

Whitworth is designed to carry LRMs, but the Trebuchet does that job much better for only 5 tons more. I think the majority of people would rip them out of the Whitworth and put ASRM-6s in their place.

That's actual the literal TT/lore role for this mech. You're a medium support mech meant to back up the heavies as a second liner.

You could always put a narc in it and hang around the missile boats. See a light or something out in the open, pop it with a narc, and watch it run for cover as you shoot it's back out with LLs...

Eventually, of course there will, but I doubt it would be any time soon.

good thing its engine cap is 250 and not the meager 235 we've come to love (?) in the Blackjacks.

yeah, 3 MPL and 2 SRM6 seems solid, with a max XL engine. or maybe a light support chassis, with two ALRM10, a TAG in the head and two MLs to fend off small critters.
