Formed in approximately 2001, HRR as a unit consists of a fairly small group of tight knit gamers. Originally playing as the Battletech unit Hansen's Roughriders back in the original Flaming Sword planetary league (which later became UTS), we continued to compete in various planetary leagues within the Mechwarrior 4 competitive scene. Throughout Mechwarrior 4's lifetime, we played as various units in addition to the Hansen's Roughriders, including Clan Burrock and The Grey Death Legion. As a result, our unit tends to self identify as HRR more so than the specific Hansen's Roughriders' unit, although that will always have some place in our hearts as the origin of the unit.
Beyond Mechwarrior, HRR has played together in a wide variety of games, from MMO's going back to Dark Age of Camelot, to First Person Shooters like Call of Duty, and currently has a presence as a mercenary corporation in Star Citzen.
In addition to those of us who played in our original Mechwarrior unit, we've picked up a few new faces along the way, including many of the old Avatar Knights pilots.
Folks from back in the old planetary leagues may still remember us, but after a decade of hard drinking, who knows.
For those who are interested in recruitment, our selection criteria tends to be fairly strict. While we value piloting skills, it's just as important that potential recruits fit with our unit in terms of personality, since we tend to stick together beyond the lifetime of a single game. If folks are intersted, feel free to PM me. Most of our recruitment takes place within the game itself.
