it is so, ppc nerf is just a violence the game.

dual ppc was not op
2ppc+gauss was not op.
1erppc+gauss was not op.

many tourney games have been a browl, not a sniper game.

if you needed to do something idiot and nerf ppcs, you should have moved their speed to 1100 m\s. minimum

the solutions for balance are in my other post, a bit below

i have some friends that play this game since 2years that are quitting because they can not suffer the violence you are doing to the balance in this game, first the clan mechs, the most stupid pay to win and unbalanced thing ever done, and than this.

WHOEVER DOES THE BELANCE IN THIS GAME ONLY CARES ABOUT MOVING OP COMBOS 1 TIME EVERY 3 MONTHS IN ORDER TO SELL MORE THINGS.

YOU HAVE OMPLETELY NO IDEA ON HOW TO BALANCE THIS GAME, OR YOU SIMPLY DO NOT WANT TO.

Grammar and syntax are your friends. Perhaps you should become reacquainted with them?

Personally, I understand the reason for the nerfs to c/ERPPC and their ilk. They are still competitive, but no longer the straight up best choice for any given build. They are back in line with weapon balance.

Rather, I argue you should direct your rage towards the c/ERLL nerf, which completely hamstrung the weapon and brought it down significantly.

Gray Black... perhaps you'd notice that IL MECHWARRIOR is from Italy and English is likely not his first language. That being said... I think the Devs decision to balance the PPC speed was to change the reliance of those meta-builds. Not fun when you got a Mech trudging around with 2-3 Gauss and 2+ ER PPCs that can kill most Mechs between 1-2 alphastrikes. People will still find a way for the weapons to "sync" upon firing, even if they have to stagger their shots to hit at relatively the same time, there will just be more damage spread and not as pin-point.

Well, let's keep in mind that every meta build for over a year has included PPC's. In fact, they've all been 2 PPC's plus _whatever_, except for some smaller mechs that sometimes only carry one PPC and something else.

Clearly, the PPC was a keystone.

PPC nerf was AMAZING. I love it.

Now it should stop the crappy ECM PPC cicdas running off and trying to snipe + ditching their team.

Moves combat range a bit closer but not that much, I was shooting 1000m with my ERPPC just fine and no issues, They didn't change dmg, they didn't change projectile size etc. Stop complaining, and become a better pilot.

TLDR; Bad Pilots hate the change, others have no issues aiming and leading target.

MW2 was the best, it had slowest PPCs...coincidence...I think not.

The maximum PPD in BT is 20, why should it be higher in MWO?

And no one used them in multiplayer battles. Hmmm I wonder why?

A lone PPC or ERPPC or Gauss Rifle isn't really an issue, but PGI seems to have a really strong aversion to associating any kind of accuracy or convergence penalty with massive alphastrikes.

So instead we get an incomprehensible *********** of heat penalties and charge times/resets, and a persistent PPC+ballistic high-alpha meta that shifts every six months based on whichever projectiles have the most similar velocities.

What is the problem with nerfing exactly? Who enjoys getting one-shotted? I don't think anyone does. As an attacker, don't you want more of a challenge than to be able to severely damage or kill an opponent with one shot? I for one still think arty and lrm's need to be nerfed BIG TIME.

In the end it's all getting nerfed and eventually everyone will tire of the way PGI changes the narrative of things by the constant changes. The title is out of Alpha only because they ripped off the label. It's still just a crappy alpha and inching slowly toward a Beta that will likely never reach the point fulfilling what it was supposed to be. You spend money to buy something in MWO, it's really good for a little while but right around the time people can get it for C-bills or it goes on sale for %50 off PGI nerfs it. This is how they play us while we play the money grab. I suggest you don't spend any money with PGI and just get what you can out of this for free until Heavy Gear Assault is out and then try that one.

An alpha strike wouldn't be so bad if they adjusted or removed pinpoint targeting.

It's sad.. but the only way to get pgi to listen to its' customers is in the face of competition..

ridiculous statement, umm because with the internet/network speeds and programming in those days you would have had to lag shoot 10 screens over to come even remotely close?

Are you saying MW:O doesn't have lag problems?

I for one agree with his point......Who wants to shoot a blue marsh mellow at the enemy @AC20 projectile speeds. I always thought the PPC and the Gauss rifle shared the highest projectile speeds in lore?

And yes attention needs to be brought to CERLL but in the form of max range........Maybe with trgt computer and command console both for tonnage you would be able to utilize 890M X2 for Max range.........Having 2X the range of all but 2 IS weapons is a little bit much........Those stubborn hillbillies will continue to make moves that to a rational person seem delirious......As is the way it has been since the dawn of time.(Closed BETA)-Think brain surgery with 125CC dirtbikechainsaw

Nerfing individual weapons hasn't removed massive pinpoint alphas; it just shifts which weapons are most convenient to use for massive pinpoint alphas.
  • Two years ago, paired Gauss Rifles were the culprit; Paul did nothing.
  • Eighteen months ago, PPCs got buffed and 4xPPC and 2xPPC+Gauss configs became dominant because they did a little more damage for similar weight; Paul eventually nerfed PPCs with Ghost Heat after five months (and nerfed every long range weapon that could counter it, like Large Lasers and AC/2s, even harder).
  • After that it was all 2xPPC+Gauss, so two months later Paul nerfed the Gauss with the charge time and nerfed PPCs with a speed decrease.
  • That put PPCs at the same projectile sped as AC/5s, so 2xPPC+2xAC/5 configs became dominant.
  • After about six months of trying to ignore the problem, Paul nerfed AC/5s with a projectile speed decrease (and then nerfed AC/2s again for the hell of it).
  • That put the projectile speed of PPCs closer to that of a Gauss rifle, so everyone went back to 2xPPC+Gauss.
  • Now Paul is nerfing PPCs to have the same projectile velocity as the AC/10, which seems to present an obvious choice; even if the range of 2xPPC+AC/10 turns out to be less than ideal, 2xGauss still gives a pretty nice alpha.
  • And meanwhile, 2xAC/20 has been broken as hell since DHS came in, and Ghost Heat didn't make a difference.
It's like the roof is leaking, so you put down a bucket to catch the drips. Then new drip starts over the couch, so you put a tarp over the couch. Then another drip appears so you go put a stockpot under it. And that keeps up for months until your house is full of pots and tubs of brackish water and all you furniture is under tarps, and, lo and behold, the roof still leaks and you're getting worse and worse mildew and water damage. The pinpoint high-alpha meta will always remain dominant until PGI actually does something to confront it directly, instead of just nerfing a bunch of weapon systems individually (which more often than not just ninja-buffs the new FotM high-alpha build).

I bet the next nerf will be C-ERML. It's such a fantastic weapon at the moment, and we can't have that now can we.
My Nova will be sad. I bet they do just like they did with the CERLL, unload the mother-of-all-nerfs on it, and then pull back a bit on the throttle and remove one of those nerfs.

Good point with the TC, it DOES affect the PPC speed, TC7 = %15 boost and crit increase so that right there gives an assault mech a better advantage if PPC speed is such a huge deal. Toss on a TC7 in a DW and dual PPC away.

Maybe they can tweak TCs better and make them more enticing for a PPC build.
