THE UNIT :

The Brotherhood of Steel is a mercenary company operating from House Marik space, working for a range of clients across the Inner Sphere. We are a listed member of the FWLM community.

We are a tight-knit, multi-national unit looking for new recruits that are able to play during the EU evening time, irregardless of where they are from and which faction is on their banner.

On TS we speak mostly english, but in true Free Worlds fashion we speak a wide range of languages, greek, german and french among them.

We are a semi-competetive unit, which means we do regular training sessions, plan tactics and unit compositions and generally play to win, but we try not to be uptight about it, especially in how we treat each other. Also, we flat out refuse to run nothing but the latest metabuilds or use tactics that we consider cheap exploits (24 artillery/air strikes for instance).

We would like to stress that we accept complete beginners. Our emphasis is on how a recruit meshes with the other members and that everyone is having fun. Experience and skill in the game can be learned. Willingness to work as a team and feeling welcome not so.

HOW TO JOIN :

You can contact us via our website (http://www.steel-brotherhood.com/) or simply ping us when you see us on the FWLM Teamspeak in our drop bays.
You can also add one of our recruiting officers in your in game friends list:
Mark Brandhauber, Zongoose, Nathaniel Stern

Major lore update.

Please note we aren´t roleplayers, but since many of us know and love the world of BattleTech we decided to create a background for our unit. An in-universe dossier, explaining how the BoS fits into the BattleTech Universe can be found here: http://steel-brotherhood.com/unit

Of course in the time-tested format of a ComStar intelligence report. What else?

It is rather long, but it has pictures.

Careful there, you're in danger of making us look organised and professional!

My bad.

In other news, is it normal that everyone on this subforum just posts meaningless stuff every day, so their thread stays on page 1?
(Yes, I am aware of the irony. Thank you for noting.)

Sooner or later the Mods are going to introduce a cooldown time on posts.

I mean just look at the thread page numbers there. It is ridiculous.

I´d say they go quite well on average. There is a tendency to extremes though. Roflstomp or be roflstomped.

But I guess we aren´t the only ones reporting that.

I am proud to be welcome another great European mechwarrior to the Order. Welcome aboard!
Starting a EU merc company seemed like had work to begin with but we're growing steadily, Check out the brotherhood of steel for an active unit during European prime-time!

Hey,

Could you use another aging mechwarrior?

I'm a pretty relaxed guy, 31 years old, from the Netherlands, with enough mechwarrior experience under my belt.

What I would like to know from your group, is whether you welcome a casual player like myself as well. I have quite the busy life, with work, wife and young kids, so I can't commit to be online at fixed times.

When I am online, I'd be happy to be a part of the team and let it shine!

If the random times of my presence are ok, we could be a nice match. :-)

Cheers,
Jadaha

Hi Jadaha, sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I've been away over Christmas. I've accepted your friend request in game.

In principle the Brotherhood of Steel approved of the Star League initiative and sympathizes with its goals. To stop the Clan Invasion is a worthy cause.

Yet this is a political project. Wether tangible help will eventually materialize or not, we cannot say. But whatever the outcome - it will take time. Time which many worlds threatened by the invaders do not have.

So while the politicans do what politicans do, we soldiers will fight.

The Brotherhood is relocating to the Free Rasalhague Republic and will aid those who need its help the most. Even if these days should be the last ones of the proud people of Rasalhague, we will not leave them alone.

Our brothers in arms from the Free Worlds League as well as anyone else willing to help against the aggressors is welcome to join us.

As a unit with regulan traditions our rules are as simple as they are strict.

You must fight. [in the late european evening]
Cowardice will not be accepted.

You must obey. [during drops only of course. We aren´t douchebags.]
Insubordination will not be accepted.
