Also notice the names of the Clan pilots and IS pilots for heavies...I recognize maybe 1-2 IS heavy pilots, but I see several of the Clan heavy pilots very often.

Probably has to do with the fact that a good light pilot stays on the fringes of battle and can fire main weapons more frequently without fear of being blown away. It's a rare day for me to put 40 points of pulse laser damage into a target from a battlemaster. It's common for me to dump medium lasers and PPC fire into targets all match long from one of my Jenners.
A lot of heavies can't pack that same agility. And mediums are just kind of there - spare for a few that can be interesting (blackjack).
Some of the ECM ravens have been very effective at scoring damage into that typically accomplished by assaults.

my theory for that is because the IS heavy and assaults, are the slower targets for the clan onsaults perfect targets for the massive DPS.. however fast light mechs just dont get targetted by the clan or the IS for that matter
especially the clan ACs.. god knows u wouldnt try to target a fast IS mech with those, but a slow heavy IS mech on the other hand... I just love unloading rounds of lead into those.

Yep. Everyone loves to say how they'd drop a timberwolf's engine rating for more firepower, but for IS heavies to get good firepower you have to drop your engine rating and run a very, very vulnerable XL. Slow + Vulnerable = second class.

They are only slightly behind IS lights. I mean currently there is about a 3.5% difference between the top IS and Clan light mechs. The second place clan is ever so slightly ahead of the same IS and 3rd is only behind by .5% So no, they aren't terrible.

The Mad Cat is better than any IS heavy, so that plays a large role, but damage also plays a big factor.
An IS mech that gets 8 kills is going to do considerably less overall damage than a Clan mech that gets 8 kills. Now since part of the score is influenced by damage (damage - team damage / 15), Clan mechs will overall get more points for their damage done than their IS counterparts.

I see tons of clan mechs with 800+ dmg and no freaking kills... and we lose the match because nothing was killed...
Please don't' base mechs being good or bad on how much dmg they do... it doesn't matter how much dmg they do if they can't get that kill shot in...

And the devs have said they don't want TT clan versions... they are trying to balance them without making them more of just the same old thing... The devs have already made some tweaks, and I hope they keep doing small changes until they are balanced, instead of taking the NERF HAMMER to them and making them garbage... Believe it or not, some of the clan mechs could use some buffs

Give it some freaking time people, they are not even all released for cbills yet.

Give it time? and some clans need buffs? The raven pilots are still waiting for their legs go back to where they are suppose to be.
