Looks like a preview is coming out in a bit. I am interested to see what the network improvements are. Also curios if there will be any balance changes. "Will put out some patch preview tweets this evening, small but important patch with networking improvements." https://twitter.com/russ_bullock

They are taking away the Adder and Locust lifeline, the ability to take 1 of each strike.

Or maybe that'll come on the 26th?

I played a lot over the weekend, about 4-5 hours per day. Out of that time I had 2-3 matches where the server completely filled its diapers and began drooling all over itself. More often than not bad players used it as a scapegoat when getting rolled, but I too am looking forward to ANY improvement over somewhat jittery performance lately.

I wouldn't call it a scapegoat. When you "magically warp into the enemy" with parts of your mech lost and/or destroyed, it's gets frustrating. Death is death, but once you enter "the time warp", all bets are off.

I've been there... I even warn people oblivious they are doing the moonwalk or stuttering around. It totally sucks to freeze, get rubberbanded back in time to 10 seconds previous then magically assplode into confetti. I'm just saying it doesn't happen as often as you think.

If they do, it's no big deal. I only take one strike with me in my Locust anyway, and it is seldom used at that.

hmmmm ... maybe it is just the MM trying to make sure you have your 50% loss percentage?

The quickest test is to post a message to all... the longer the delay, the warp field you enter is as strong.

Of course... had PGI tracked its telemetry to the reconnection patch (which is where it all began), they would have taken this more seriously instead of waiting until a patch day. I'd rather have some sort of partial hotfix instead of "continuing" with this "warp matrix" or just imagine some screwed up version of Doctor Who.

The MM doesn't create warp. It creates random episodes of ggclose.

I have had real problems desyncing. Its not an excuse its just a problem when it happens. And its far from every game but even 2 or 3 times a night is frustrating.

I only played enough to get the mechbay, so I played a lot less than you, maybe 2 hours total. I had 2 instances of bad lag. It may be more common than you think.

For reference, I've gotten really "used to" warping into the middle of nowhere when collisions occur... and this is not really behavior we should "be getting used to".

Ain't a Forum dedicated to your game social enough? We have just as many folk online right now(ok 10 minutes ago) as he has total followers there!

Because a growing number of game developers that seem to prefer posting on twitter/facebook/reddit instead of their own official forums. Seriously, PGI isn't the only studio that does this now and it's starting to annoy me :)

Its funny that collisions in the Mechwarrior series have gotten worse with the increase in technology, Im still waiting to be able to DFA, not that you'll be able to do it with these hover jets even if they changed the collision code though.

So MAYBE we should boycott the other media outlets to remind DEVs THIS is where they WILL reach more of their players.

My personal favorite is getting 'stuck' when my mech is falling.

Fall 3 meters, hit the ground at 178 m/ sec
