Update On Server Lag Issues

Getting the occasional desync still, maybe 1/5. Doesn't effect all players equally.

CTD occur more frequently than ever before.

But ping is down to around 90-100 most games, an improvement of about 20/25. And, more importantly, I'm setting much better convergence of other players too, which should created a much more level playing field (right?)...

Looking forward to greater stability of course... But I'm not having as bad a time as some of you guys.

Ping is better: before 135-145, now 125-135. But still have desync, rubberbanding and warping, maybe even more than before.

I have gone from 270 to 415+ since the move. I always dream of how good of pilot i would be if i played with a ping below 100, seeing as most matches it is 3 kills 500+ damage, one can dream right? RIGHT?!

First I have to ask why did PGI change service centers? Yes im having x2 worse problems than on the old server.

#1 I would say PGI is losing funding and needed to downsize there costs because of there mistakes with the MechWarrior IP in general.

#2 PGI's Decision As the Player Base shrinks was there is no need for a big server if the game is dyeing.

#3 All this could have been avoided if they would have listened to there player base and IP fans at the end of closed beta.

#4 PGI please turn a 360 and make MWO back into a MechWarrior5 before your game dies.

#6 Clone MWO after a updated MechWarrior4 Mercenaries Multiplayer setup with lobby's before the game dies.

#7 IF MWO dies Please PGI release the server and client so the game can be moded back into MechWarrior for the Masses.

2. That's the joke i've been kicking around more or less, that its preparations for shutting down.

3. They were never going to listen to the fans because and I can't believe I'm siding with pgi on this one, fans don't know what they're talking about, they never know what they're talking about except that you're doing something they like and that they have a million ideas on how to change it so it specifically suits them as an individual. The only problem is there was a series of developmental mistakes that ultimately created the mess we're currently in. Thankfully though when pgi inevitably closes the doors, someone else will eventually pick the name back up and have their crack at making a mechwarrior game.

and the last three are not only pleads on deaf ears, but make no financial sense, and I can only hope that they at least solve the desync issues before they go bankrupt from literally closed beta server behavior so that I can play the game once or twice without needing to worry if my playing will be suddenly interrupted.

I'm surprised they don't just go back to making everything original. Judging from the first few youtube vids created for the first few battles of MWO it looked like everything was slow (not all hyper fast as it is now) LRM/SRM volleys swirled as they travelled through the air instead of speeding across the map at 200kph. Auto cannons and laser blast sounds were different. PPC acted like gauss rifles. (The charging of the gauss rifle was a nice feature change but maybe the new sluggish graphic of the ppc flight is causing load problems?)

If they lightened the video load of the server maybe there'll be less desync/ctds/ping issues? I'm not sure how it all works but you're right about how the majority of the mwo customers are only in it for themselves. I hope this site doesn't die out 'cause it's the most fun I've had in ages from back when msngamingzone supported the Mechwarrior 3/4 online servers. So many map packs to choose from both ice and hot maps. I never joined the MW4 game but the MW3 was all I needed.

This is the really sad part about PGI they wont accept help from the community. I personally know 6 people that started Playing MWO that worked for FASA and would have helped in development of the game but were basically told to (FU) off because it did not fit into PGI-IGP'S game plans .Plus about 200 old guard fans that have played the MechWarrior IP for 20-30 years were basically told the same thing (FU). So tell me again why PGI and MWO is failing? You and I bolth know Russ and Brian thought they were smarter than the people that made the original PC games and the players and fans that made then great GAME OF THE YEAR GAMES.

for the same reason that tourist restaurants who anger their local customers in favor of tourists wind up going bankrupt during off seasons.

Still massive De sync and lag... never an issue up until last week. Please fix.

And start listening to the fans. We want to help.

Hell... I bet there are some excellent graphic artists out there that would love to design structures to implement in maps.
Love to see some restaurants with Inner Sphere themes. Billboards etc...

Let the community help. We want to play this game as we thought intended. It's so stuffy right now. Relax young PGI and let your force flow. Cut the cancerous arm of the evil IGP off. They are failing you.

Ork nice post many would love to help PGI and MWO before it dies but I think they will try to sell the game and IP first.

Also for those that do not know PGI and IGP are one and the same LLC you can look it all up if you know how in Canadian records.So blaming IGP is like blaming PGI.

I think the ISERLL and Clan Laser nerfs are more important atm.

Can't die in a lag spike if the enemy can't damage you :P

Ping down about 5 (from ~30 to ~25). Desync is also less common - maybe 1 in 20 matches now, vs. 1 in 2 before.

The server relocation probably shifted around who gets the majority of the desyncing. Like they said it's only certain people that get the issue... though whether its intentional or not (conspiracy?). LOL, it is only players that are under certain conditions though such as location, internet traffic in the area, and server load.

why IS er lrg laser,like that clan scum weapons arent already better then IS weapons ,and that IS ballistic weapons arent already ruined by bad nerfs by PGI,but now even to nerf er lrg lasers !?

And even if desinc by some miracle stops,my mech comes out of it either even more damaged or out of bounds,yes,server lag can kill !!!

Exactly so if they nerf weapons into the ground it won't be an issue anymore because the enemy can't damage you!
