Russ on twitter meantion Lvl 5 weapon modules and He said they removed Heat penalty. Does that mean they removed the penalty with the high level modules or that they removed it in general.

Could be either, but I think he means they removed it from everything starting at level 1.

What they should remove is ghost heat...and learn to balance their own ******* game...

It could mean anything, from ghost goats not needing anymore sacrifices or the ghost lord not needing a new place to live (Mordor).

Speculating on stuff that has no context is fun... if you want to dream of a CW in 90 days.

I think that's the heat penalty on modules, modules which cost more than some mechs. Grind to win!

ghost heat is the penalty. I believe that is so. Firing 3 LL in successions wont make it magically jump to insane levels.

I Would think he would have said modules but it may be to early. Those patch notes should clear the air, but I thought I would get people thinking.

Not like everyone using every weapon anyway. Get one for medium lasers and your set for 50% of your weapons :lol:

No ghost heat at all. I think the reasoning behind this was that the Lvl 5 modules are gonna generate more heat and to make sure they are usable, ghost heat needed to be cut. Or else running high level would be really heat inefficient

Sooo... Basically, weapon modules will have no downside now? That makes them more or less a required upgrade, along the lines of endo steel or DHS. Considering each weapon module costs millions of c-bills, that is a giant price tag just to keep your mech competitive.

Instead of fixing weapon modules to give tangible benefits AND drawbacks, you would just get another C-bill sink. Totally lame.

Dude, they are not going to suddenly drop all their patchwork progress on ghost heat overnight any more than suddenly waking up to find ECM balanced properly.

In all truthfulness when it comes to ghost heat they have pained themselves into a corner.

Thier only way out is with a serious amount of time for their engineers to build something else, and with all of them tied up in CW it isn't going to be anytime soon

Could be. In order to add incentive to the high level modules something needed to give. I dont think it would be wise to run a level 5 LL module and have massive amounts of heat added and then have ghost heat on top of that. then again, i am curious to see what they are going to do. Lvl modules are not coming next patch just to be clear(at least not lvl 5)

Yep, just like the mandatory 1-2 artillery strikes per match and/or coolant flushes that are required to be competitive. Just more ****** grind that either does not benefit the gameplay at all, or straight up makes it worse like the annoying 12 artillery strikes per match ****.

or they can just remove it Quiaff? just reading off of what Russ said. I dont actually know what its going to entail but I can trust in my ability to read:) If they put it in they can take it out. Who knows

I hear ya, I cant even drop in the Solo Que without being bombarded every 2 minuets by arty. there are those who will argue against that, especially the majority of players who think and know that arty is mandatory in a match.

It's the same logic as the mech modules and consumables. The "hidden downside" was "supposed" to be that they are in competition with each other; i.e. use slot 1 on module A means you can't use slot 1 on module B, etc.
