It was Frozen City. I stayed to cover and just kept popping people. 1 Large Pulse Laser, 2 Medium Pulse lasers and and SRM 4. Its lots of fun, you just need to play smart.

Tiny bit taller than the BJ, overall the same size essentially. Much thinner around the middle, thinner legs. More bulk around the head & shoulders since the BJ is basically headless.

Because it actually will make them more money than a beefed up mech they made. Both of the Ember, and the Ilya, have had cries of pay to win lobbed at them since day 1 (not as much with the Ember). A lore friendly mech, that doesn't give you a great advantage in a fight makes people less hesitant about spending money on it, since they know they aren't screwing other people over.
Surprisingly enough, most people are actually decent, deep .. deep.. deep down. People spend more on a game when they know it's not going to be an easy button. The ones that want the easy button, are honestly not the players we the community want in this game.

You know what though, if it was "too" special people would be screaming "Pay to Win".
The 1X and 1AA look like the best variants to me. 1X has ballistics and 1AA has dual AMS.

Absolutely. It's why I love it.

Hey, this is the THE capellan medium, and it's finally here. Enjoy it.
The Hammerhands is ugly as hell, but do you think I will complain about that when they introduce it? Oh no baby. I'm gonna strap as many ACs into it, and become the walking stereotype of what a Davion pilot's love for ACs looks like.

I'm not sure how it will line up against other mediums, but I look forward to giving it a try. I envision mine with a bit more green on it, however.
I had to google the BDR 549 label to get the Blues Brothers reference. Good stuff!

Heads have always been CT hitboxes. The actual head hitbox is usually the center most glass panel. The back of the head should be part of the rear CT I think.

I don't care if they make a hero of the same level of the free variants. But releasing heroes actually worst of the free versions (P2L) won't get PGI many sales.

I don't know in what world are you living, but this is a competitive game. Like all competitive games, people will use all sort of exploits* and "unfair" meta builds to win.
*like people are doing now by still using 1 artillery AND 1 airstrike in their mechs.

It's not worse. Can you not upgrade it like all of the others? Btw, the C-Bill variants are worse, considering they come with comparable tech level, but minus the 30% C-Bill boost.
Also, have you met the Golden boy?
That one is definitely worse than the C-Bill versions, but it still sold.

I hate to burst your bubble, but 90% of all players in this game are actually the exact opposite of competitive. They might get competitive every now and then, but the overwhelming majority couldn't care less about being competitive. Income from them will always be more than income from the competitive, or faux competitive players.

You do realize that stats have been reset, right?
Then why provide your stats as proof if you know they are unrepresentative? That would be illogical.
So, either those stats are representative of your pre-wipe performance or they are bogus. In either case, your conclusion is invalid.

Not every competitive game has exploits and persistent meta; none of the good ones do, anyway.
Also, the arty + air has been patched out and was never an exploit in the first place. Exploits are unintended glitches that give a player the upper hand, i.e. the BXR control combo in Halo 2.

Piloted by Wolf's Dragoons Captain Danielle Rondema, this modified Atlas carried three medium lasers in each arm, trading away the SRM rack to do so. The additional heat was dissipated by two additional heat sinks that replaced the rear-firing medium lasers."
Atlas D default is:
AC/20 + 2 Arm lasers + 2 rear firing lasers + LRM-20 + SRM-6.
It was made with the idea of being able to recreate it in mind, based on someone suggesting it.
Paintjob isn't canon nor is the actual weapons, but the hardpoint arrangement is.
Here is Danielle Rondema's build, which the Boar's Head was based on but modified because, well, PGI.
Sounds about right on the money for it hardpoint wise, and the weapons are not quite right (hard to prove since I can't get to my hard copy TRO's very easily). And yes it does sound PGI-ish the way its' been done.

The name Boar's Head is cannon, right out of the very first Technical Readout book ever published (3025):
"Mechwarrior Rodney Van Kleven
A member of the elite 6th Syrtis Fusiliers, Rodney Van Kleven is an aristocrat with the instincts of a democrat. Extremely personable, he is well-liked by everyone from fellow MechWarriors to the lowliest ship's cook.
On the battlefield, Van Kleven uses his Atlas, which he calls the Boar's Head, like a 100-ton scout. He stomps all over the field, creating general terror in the enemy lines and almost always overheating his 'Mech. He has won several land grants, but quickly loses the tittles when his 'Mech overheats and shuts down on the battlefield"
A hero atlas with more energy hardpoints than any other seems to fit that description pretty well.
Yes, the name is fitting and from cannon after doing some rather difficult digging, but they don't specifiy any weapons of any sort in the TRO readout quoted. Just that it overheats easily. Yes that sounds like lasers, but it's not hard to overheat using 3025 tech for any weapons combo.
But, I do stand corrected about the cannonicity of the 'Mech. At least in name since not much else can be proven regarding the weapons. But I stand corrected and salute you both.

PPC for mid range combat, SRM 6's and medium lasers when mechs get too close. Very good heat management and mobility.
If you don't like the XL, you can swap a STD 250, upgrade to ferro and swap the two srm 6's for two srm 2's, same ton of ammo, also drop the one double heat sink. But it loses it's CQB potential.
I don't show the correct rear armor values since everyone differs.

I don't think I've ever lost an arm on a blackjack. Ever. Enough that I'm comfortable mounting an Ac/20 as my only weapon with no backup lasers.
