Given that the only heavy that has been added to this game, since official release date (last Semptember) is the Thunderbolt. And that most pre 3050 heavies are either unseen, or lack enough variation to create 3 variants, i am hoping for the Lancelot. Not very well known, but looks great, is fast and has pretty versatile and useful hardpoints.

The Lancelot comes with at least 3, i'd say 4 distinct variants, and given the high mounted arm weapons it might breathe life into the otherwise dead 60t segment. Unless it's as big as the Quickdraw again...

LNC25-01: mimimum of 4 energy hardpoints. Should come with higher engine cap or torse twist buffs or more energy hardpoints as LNC25-01X. (360XL, DHS, Large Laser in RA & LA, PPC in RT, Medium Laser in CT)
LNC25-01X: Same as LNC25-01 but with JJ. (360XL, DHS, ES, FF, 4xJJ in RL&LL, weapons like LNC25-01)
LNC25-03: High mounted arm ballistic hardpoints + energy hardpoints in CT&RT. (300XL, DHS, AC5 RA, AC5 LA, PPC RT, MediumLaser CT)
LNC25-05: High mounted arms 1x energy & 2x ballistic hardpoints each. RT mounted PPC. (360XL, DHS, LL & 2xMG in RA, LL & 2xMG in LA, PPC RT)

I usually don't play Heavies, but this one might get me to play one.

I want another light mech (not the flea) a surprise mech as it were. What I think we're likely to get is the devastator due to pgis reticence to handle the dire whale ppc guass combo.... which is what the devastator is stock

But where is my Mad Dog?!

It was never confirmed, Russ tweeted once that he'd seen Alex working on some concepts for it or something similar. So enough to get the idea out there, but nothing concrete.

Mad Dog/Vulture would probably be the only Clan mech I'd consider buying.

And forgot about the Assassin - love that mech.

And seriously: is there a way we could do a kickstarter and buy out Harmony Gold? Because I REALLY want an Archer and Marauder in this game.

Coming with more Clan mechs, after the current Clan Mechs are all released. I'm expecting that once the Clans are out, they're going to release an IS pack afterwards for CW, and then after that, probably go to an IS/Clan/Is/Clan schedule of releases.

Ugh... If there's one thing I hate more than devs communicating to their fans via Twitter, it's this kind of ambiguous tweeting that is meant to create discussion, buzz and intrigue. Like "Oh golly, I think I spy an unreleased mech on the napkin Alex used for lunch! How interesting, what can it be, boys and girls......?"

I feel like I'm watching Barney the Dinosaur reveal this week's magic letter in the alphabet.

Flea
Mauler
Zeus
Panther
Wolfhound
Urbanmech
etc.

What I am more concerned with is the class' representation on the battlefield. 3/3/3/3 breaks lore, I'd rather see 3/6/2/1 or 2/6/2/2. I understand why they did it, but I propose we'd be running into the same issues regardless. Mediums are supposed to be the workhorses of the IS armies, right now, they're a side-note.

EDIT: Added Urbanmech to the list. SHAME ON ME FOR FORGETTING!

Or even 3/4/3/2 or 4/4/2/2, but all 3's...yeah - it's not quite right, but I get why they did it.

Anyways, back to the topic:

a lot of people were saying "Grasshopper" for August, and I'm not sure where that came from, but it is a pretty good Heavy with great hardpoints and high mobility. Also has enough different variants to make it a strong possibilities. I'd rather have the Zeus, but the Grasshopper would be a good consolation prize.

I like my T-bolts against them. It's obviously not 1-to-1, nor should it be, but the T-bolt is a pretty tough mech with a STD engine.

You'll appreciate this.

At stock armor configs, the TW is easy to kill and the IS weapons are far too powerful, that's with the old Clan ER LL too. Though how the game was played also had a bit to do with it.

However the current trend, due to bad hitbox shape and design (flat panel = rear torso, all else = front) you can go 90 points front CT, 2 points rear CT, 62 points front STs, 2 points rear STs and still never get hurt from the rear with ease.
(Typical Victor, 80 tons, runs 86 points front, 1$ rear CT. 54 points front, 14 points rear ST and STILL has to worry about being butchered from behind. A Timber Wolf will NEVER worry about that -- unless the pilot is completely incompetent).

That's what really makes Clan mechs overpowered. Stormcrow is another such mech.

Yet Novas aren't much of a threat. Or Adders. This is because you can hit their rear torsos from the front-top and from the side. Something you cannot do to the Timber Wolf or Stormcrow.

On the wall of Mechs Niko released on Twitter, there were two pictures of the Orion, which could mean another heavy coming. Of course, it could have just been the Vindicator, since we have no way of telling.

My guess it is going to be an IS Heavy to coincide with the release of the Summoner for cbills on Clan side. They have already released a hero Light, and then the Vindicator. It makes sense that they are going to be releasing offsetting mechs of the same weight class.

Hopefully we can see a little "mech-flation" in the next couple of months until all of the pre-released mechs are available for cbills. After that they said that they would be going to 2 a month releases which could coincide with 1 IS and 1 Clan mech.

Linkage is appreciated here.

Though, I kinda suspect a heavy, before we go Mauler or something along those lines.
