The Black Forge
Who are we?
The Black Forge is a unit comprised of tight-knit, competitive/hardcore Inner Sphere sportsmen/women that deeply immerse themselves in the Battletech Universe. The Black Forge is designed for the Mechwarrior/Battletech enthusiast of (almost) all stripes and ages who want to be the best they can be, and work together along side those with the same vision.
Our soldiers fight as one to overcome all obstacles, and work with one another to establish true camaraderie and a stronger team. Our brotherhood fights in the name of the Inner-Sphere and its people as we vie to bring the Clans crumbling to their knees.
What is our vision?
The Black Forge envisions a brotherhood of mechwarriors that strengthen and empower one another. We strengthen our members through training and education in warfare. We empower them by giving them a sense of purpose and belonging.
The Black Forge strives to accomplish its vision by upholding its values and establishing true camaraderie within its ranks. We work very hard as a unit, we play very hard to earn our victories. Every victory, no matter how small, is celebrated together. Every defeat is a lesson learned.
We wish is to be the best we can be, while having a blast doing it! While other units exist only to gain profit and enlist a huge army, we exist to dominate our foes and share the experience together as one.
What sets us apart?
The Black Forge truly believes in humility, honor, respect and dedication. We know that there is always room for improvement, regardless of how we did. The Black Forge believes there is no skill cap, such ideals are merely self inflicted limitations. We believe only in skill progression.
As enthusiastic and hardcore as we are about Battletech and Mechwarrior, we consider this our E-Sport. We strive to be proper sportsmen and sportswoman with great attitudes and encourage a friendly, welcoming environment. Nothing is worse than a bunch of elitist jerks. That is why we try so hard to remain humble and remember that we can always be a better version of ourselves!
The Black Forge is a highly organized unit at its core. Our unit incorporates spreadsheets for setting up dropdecks, deploying forces, keeping records, tracking intelligence and more.
Aside from pregame or unit organization, we have developed a unique system for achieving hardcore play, while allowing our members a great deal of build freedom. Every one of our 'mechs are dedicated to specific roles in order to achieve maximum combat effectiveness.
The Black Forge is a unit that truly grants rank meritoriously! Our ranks are indicators of ones ability, and commitment level to the group. The harder you try, and the more you play, the more you are rewarded with additional privileges. These privileges include the ability to lead on the field, unit specialist positions, etc. Aside from the ranks, everyone is held accountable for themselves and we all follow the same set of rules without exception. Even, and especially, our leaders.
The Black Forge follows a chain of command, with the end decisions concerning major course corrections being made by the leadership. That being said, our leadership still asks for the opinions of its community and during unit meetings asks to know how its community feels. We value our communities thoughts and listen intently to what each and every member has to say.

We are a North America based unit. We are most active between 7pm to 10pm Standard Eastern Time.
What is required to sign up?- Typically active 3+ days a week on average. (We're very understanding about work/real life difficulties as the arise *just let us know!*)
- The ability to speak English. (It's okay if it isn't your native language - so long as you can communicate and understand decently well using it)
- Good sportsmanship/grace during difficult or disappointing times. (Losses, personal problems, etc.)
- A desire to join and be part of a team.
- A desire to become part of a tight-knit group. (You're joining a gaming family!)
- A desire to constantly learn and grow!
- A love for playing Inner Sphere tech!
- A love for playing with your fellow unit members, regardless of the number!
