Why is it every time PGI bring out a new patch my games go bad for a few days. I've spent the last two days loosing pretty much every game which obviously isn't doing my K/D ratio any good.
But i've noticed this is getting more frequent now games are getting shorter and more steam rolled like and the total attrition is always worst just after patch day.
What is going on?

If you are worried over your K/D, this is reaaaally not the game for you.
I would wager it's because your Elo is fluctuating.
As for the patching, is probably due to Elo reseting.

The problem is mostly in the group queue where we are seeing mismatches of several hundred points due to large groups hiding good players among bad.
The only way to bring back a greater semblance of balance is to bring back the small group queue like we had up until the last 2 months with the addition of 5+ groups. Small groups can hide some elo mismatches, but nothing... NOTHING to the extreme that large groups can.
Solution is to keep the solo queue, create a "lance" queue where solo players who didn't mind the previous single queue format can opt in, and leave the large group queue for groups of 4 and greater (if a full lance wants to opt in.)

Lots of new mechs on the field with no basics..
Answer to KDR problems. Find and shoot the ones like that on the other side.

Just because you lose does not mean you can not kill any enemies...

I find this idea quite interesting. I never had a problem getting matched with group Q's, quite the contrary, people playing their roles, and not having to wait for friends or teammates to be on to do a few drops was always fun.
My only condition would be is the a form of "searching for player" type of box room, where you get to discuss and pick you mech's before dropping together into group Q, as a lance of pugs. Or maybe integrate that concept to Solo, where each lance has a pre-game lobby, and can be either dropped in to a full solo Q match, or Team match if it's missing a lance.

Solo Queue:
- Single players only.
Lance Queue:
- Groups of 2-4.
- Solo players may choose to "Opt In".
Company Queue:
- Groups of 5-12.
- Groups of 4 may choose to "Opt In"
- Allow groups of 8 or larger to drop 'short' against equal sized groups.
Doing this would cure so many problems at this stage of the game. I hope that PGI is checking out this solution.

The ability to match up lances as you suggest is missing from this game or rather the ability to match players based on skill and more importantly their loadouts an playstyle. Most of my games in the last couple of months are of different mechs splitting up trying to each fill a non co-ordinated role which as usual turns into a royal piss up.
I think each lance needs colour coding and arranging into typical range effectiveness blue for brawlers and short range mechs, green for 2nd line mechs and lets randomly pick purple for fire support. You will still get a mix of weight classes which would prove to be erratic but with any luck pilots who can keep an eye on the mini map should know where they should and shouldnt be.
This is of course far from reliableas others have suggested above the option to match yourself with similary skilled pilots is one thing but mixing effective mech loadouts clearly wont work.

For example last night my team was getting steamrolled as usual, i went away for half an hour came back dropped into terra therma killed 4 mechs and randomly won With ease.
It very much seems that there is a bias somewhere.
