Will need your filofax and a salary.
Alternatively if you care there is a testing session on new server hardware to potentially explore the removal of these issues that may effect you. For which your contribution to being active on th epublci test server with said exercise could help to reduce the issues you're experiencing.

If you have some technical limitation however that strictly prevents you then fair enough otherwise do you think it fair to try and be part of the solution and help the process?

It never fails to amaze me how the forums complain about PGI not doing public tests, then also complain about them when they do a public test.

Uh... probably because it's an entirely different version of the game? You know, the point of a separate public test?

then have 2 separate folders for the actual content and reuse the client, it's not unheard of
i highly doubt you need all assets again

he said what? pchew pchew! table top! OPEN FIRE! don't like your opinion! ARTY STRIKE HIM!
I run MWO on a laptop, I don't think they need data from me as so much as they do from hardcore gaming types. Aside from MWO I don't even play any other online games at the moment. Used to play Hellgate Global till I saw that the game was basically dead in the water.
I'd be interested in helping PGI, I just however feel I am not their target user.

They need data from as many users to best complete the jigsaw puzzle. Also you complained about the issue, so it obviously effects you doesn't it, so why wouldn't you be a target user?
After all it was you who dropped your "angst bomb" on the forums.

Lol.. you're quite a character.
I don't play many online games. I'm not an avid gamer anymore, and I'm not involved in the game enough to warrant investing further free time. And not inclined to spend money on the game, ergo, I'm not their target user... since these online games are designed to pray on certain addictive tenancies and have people spend money on the game. Admittedly it isn't as bad as RPGs with their leveling and loot systems.
I have no angst.. I'm just bewildered how they can let such a severe issue carry on without addressing it properly (what's the cause, will it be resolved soon, etc). My not playing till it's fixed isn't angst driven. I'm not mad. it's an issue, no game is impervious to issues. But I play for fun and enjoyment. If i can't enjoy the game, I can go do other things, since my life doesn't revolve around an online shooter.

It's a different version of the game with new files, modfications to existing files, etc. It even has a new map!

Then dont complain if you come back and find your piece of the jigsaw then missing is all I ask.

I'd say it's a lot more efficient for them to simply keep an entirely separate game system away from the public one. Like any good experiment, you need a solid control. This simply helps keep it that way.
Anyway, the public test, despite its name, really isn't designed for casuals that what to play with new things (not accusing, mind you), rather to test out their own content before they do introduce it to said public. If you have difficulty downloading an entire new client, or have those sort of frustrations, perhaps you needn't worry about the PTS. We'll be getting the new shinies soon anyway.

It just seems so apt for the reason the thread was moved.
