As Koniving said. The good units (which are the majority thankfully), prefer newer players to older ones. Newer players are more likely to play as a team. Funny enough I had a similar problem with training a new comer (to my unit, been playing for a year or so solo), and he was a nightmare to work with. Did not follow orders, did not stick with the lance, and just ran around in a RVN-3L with ECM and 2 ERLLs trying to snipe while we got killed by LRMs without his ECM cover. I woulda brought ECM with me to cover the lance, but he had it, and I made the mistaken assumption of thinking he would cover us (you'd think people that join units want to play WITH the unit).

Sounds like the kind of 'veteran' that plays on his lonesome which units are trying to avoid.

They are nice to have when you want them. ECM snipers are annoying threats to the enemy. But if you're counting on them for a different role, one would expect that they could fulfill that role.

Group combat vid with Rolewarfare (man I miss when it meant something).
Spoiler

Group versus itself. When said solo-sniper is wanted.

I would suggest getting your Jenner elited. It is a different thing with 10% more speed. You can get a full set of 3 with just c-bills (D, F, and K). You can spend EXP under the skills tab to get perks. Get all of the basic perks for 3 variants of a chassis and then the elite perks open up. Once you get the speed tweak perk for a mech it goes 10% faster. Get all of the elite perks for 3 variants of a weight class, and the module perk opens up for that class.

I finished getting my -F fully elite last night, and boy howdy!, you're not just whistling Dixie! My first match after getting speed tweak I scored three kills and 268 damage. My best damage before that was about 160. Huge difference.

Just an update guys...I dropped $240 greenbacks on the whole Clan pack. Couldn't be happier. I'm going to finish the current challenge in my Jenner, then start leveling up my Clan mechs class by class.

I will be joining a group too. Thinking of Clan Ghost Bear, but from the old MW4 days I'm sort of interested in running with Mercs. Not sure. Just looking for a group that has the patience to train me. I sure do need it! LOL.

Pretty much any faction has loads of groups that want new players with them. I would recommend the House Davion factions, but you said you want CGB, or Mercs. Check the Hiring Hall, post there, and specify that you want mercs.

I am assuming you mean independent mercs, there are also house affiliated mercs. HHoD (Headhunters of Davion) for example is a merc corp, but we are affiliated specifically with House Davion. So make sure to be specific if you want independent merc corps.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm sure you'll get many hours of entertainment out of it.
