The game was better without this capability.
I use it all the time, and it makes things dramatically easier in many cases... but it was a poor addition to the game, and dumbed down the piloting significantly.

At the very least it shouldn't be the default. Along with 3PV and throttle decay. Whenever I show a friend how to play, I have them turn those things off.

It seems to burden the newer players from adapting to the game's already steep learning curve. If there was no Arm-Lock, then I think it'd have to be easier for new players; enabling them to navigate with the mouse with ease. For this game, it's a logical move.
