I have enjoyed this Challenge so far. 43 wins and 7 to go. Playing mostly Kit Fox, Adder, and Storm Crow. I lack the skill yet for direct-fire weapons. However I put on as many Lerms as I can and blast away. Many of you were probably laughing your ass off when you cut me down at short range as I try to hit you with my defense lasers. Meh, you have the skill to do so. So I will keep Lerming. PGI is making the game playable for both skilled people and no so skilled people.

If you are the kind that can plunk a few AC or Gauss rounds into a 'mech and kill it, great. If you can do so and yet die to Lerms once in awhile, also great. Being highly skilled and yet dying to Lerm newbs means the game is balanced.

as an LRM user let me just say...no.

Yeah, this bug has been around for far too long, at least it is only one or two mechs missing their arrow, instead of the whole team now. You can still see if they are friendly on the minimap, but that is hard to keep an eye on in a firefight. I personally think that this bug is linked to server lag, since it seems to happen in games that end up desyncing, or that have allot of rubber banding and warping.

Actually I was in a number of matches where I was watching a friendlies running around with no blue arrow AND they weren't on my minimap... The only reason I knew they were friendly was because of their starting positions.

The last challenge was great, scoring individually based on kills and assists.

Wins? Wins are based on the team, and if you're forced to PUG drop for wins your record is mostly luck and has very little to do with your own personal skill.

Bad game, PGI. Make SOLO challenges keep score of your INDIVIDUAL performance. This is crap.

This event has been the biggest faith destroying, soul crushing, heart wrenching, mind twisting and depressing weekend I have ever experienced playing MWO.

No other game has so motivated me to want to take my own life as MWO has this weekend.

I will be taking another two or three month break after this challenge is completed to recover and earnestly pray that this game gets the improvements and polish it so desperately, desperately, desperately needs instead of community warfare.

It is an okay event. Just do not do solo drops next time PGI, because there is so much suicide/win farming going on it is not funny anymore. Every second game we have an instant disconnect.

Players who do disconnect and not come back should not get any reward. This should also counted somewhere to get the most notorious players and warn/ban them.

Bad challenge is bad.

PGI should know that most of the playerbase isn't competitive.

It should be possible to do some sort of code where you don't get rewards if you disconnect before dying.
Suiciders you can't do much about, but they are at least doing something.

Anyway, kinda funny, during this challenge my k/d ratio increased quite a bit, and my w/l ratio too. I guess I'm not good enough for group play (since I tend to get my ass kicked there), but I'm doing very well indeed in PUGs.

Awesome!

FINALLY an event that doesn't involve killing stuff! I'd be interested in the data collected from this event compared to previous events focused on kills to achieve rewards.

Good stuff!

How about counting all those who suicide - rush their way to victory?

I like the format of counting wins but it need some mechanic to stop suiciders. At least 100 dmg or be on top-10 regarding points to get credit for the win?

FlipOver,

You're misinformed. There are NO solo players in the groups queue. Conversely, there are NO groups sneaking into the solo queue.

If you play solo, you play with 11 other solo players.

If you play in a group, you play with other groups.

Thank's Toffa for the information.
I will edit my post.
Thank you again.

It's all good man!

As Kon was so kind to point out to me, I got it wrong too :)

Should read as 23 other players :D

Ahhh these lovely whiners, let me guess, you are all LRM players who need :

at least 1 light to scout for them.
1 medium too protect you.

But sure, it's others people fault that you require 2 people to completely adept their game for you so you can be effective.

Ohhh and if someone rushes too scout for you and dies as a result he's a "suicider"....

Ohhh and ofc next too basically forcing 2 people to play for you in a PUG, if the other team is skilled enough you'll barely do damage with your LRM, but yup it's all your teams fault, not your insistence too play a high coordinated play style in a PuG which demands other people play specific roles too support you.

Please shove that ego of yours where the sun don't shine whining LRM players., because you are doing nothing wrong huh ? and you are completely adaptable ! cough cough....

PS. Quote on original post still wrong, it is "The sinews of war are infinite money." Marcus Tullius Cicero, Roman Senator & General.

Hey, I am after some advise.

I have 19 wins an I am 1 win away from claiming 7 days premium time.

Let's say I win my 20th match, after the end of he match I log off MWO. The next time I log on my premium time will begin? right?

Even if that next MWO log on is 2 weeks after I win the 20th match?

thanks

I hate the IFF bug. Alpha'ed a Kit Fox on my team who had no IFF sign. :/ No TK's from it, but it didn't help the team at all.

I had problems with IFF bugs all weekend too. It seemed to get worse yesterday? Ironically, I was in my ECM Kit Fox and got rear CT armor wiped by a team mate in a Cicada. Then he came back and took off my arm. He wouldn't let off of me, so I chased him through the map and even through the enemy formation. They got him before I could finish him off, or I would have had a TK for sure. And no, it wasn't you, lol.

But there were times that an entire friendly lance had no markers, and like someone else said, the only way I knew they were friendly is from their point of origin. I hope PGI fixes this one pretty fast.

Had no HUD yesterday including the lack of markers

click map view, zoom (module only), power down, power back up.......almost always.........one of those will restore it.
Discovered accidently going to map view restoring the HUDBUG recently

Few games away from the 6.5 mil, inspite of the headaches, and problems with the games, THESE sorts of 'challenges' go a long way to keep fans around.
