As I play this game I see all the work you devs do to try and add and make the game better I can not help but think that you will at one point add Voip, Please before you think of that please o please devs watch this.

I'm all about adding voip, but with 12 people in a match all trying to talk, even if there are no trolls, it might be a bit much. I like communication by lance and the group commander can talk to the Lance captains, or whatever they're called. This is how Battlefield 2 was, and it is still my fav battlefield game for that reason. Best teamplay of the day (and way better than battlefield 3).

Also, an easy to use mute button. PGI, don't implement any voip without a REALLY easy to use mute button! Should you fail to heed my warning: I see... in your future... the forums.... they are in flames!!!
Heed my warning!!!

This game badly needs voip. I realize that terrifies a lot of people, so here's the simple fix. Not having VOIP makes group games kind of suck for anyone not in the big group on a team. Sure, sometimes it is fine, but don't even pretend that not having a clue what your team is doing is fun. Yes, there are language barriers and all, but that's less of an issue than having no easy way to tell other players things. Still, an ideal solution would be the standard quick audio buttons that almost every game in the last 10 years has had. Enemy spotted. Need help. Focus on target. Etc. That we don't have these things in game is very frustrating. The battle map is a joke right now. Nobody has time to go there and click on buttons and try to organize gameplay in that way. There are much more elegant solutions. Communication in MWO is terrible right now. Even the chat is so poorly implemented that it's scarcely useful. That there isn't a separate chat server running in all your windows in a pane that can be moved about, scrolled, and so on is bizarre. If this is truly Mechwarrrior Online, then let's actually have some online aspects exist in the game.

Anyhow, rant over. Here's what needs to exist for VOIP not to be atrociously broken:

GAME MENUS and FRONTEND:

- Options toggle to always auto mute all.
- Options toggle to always mute all but in friendslist.
- Track how often a player is muted and they earn douchebag points for each mute and for the regularity. If it's just one game and one person that's not a problem. If it's multiple people and in multiple games then they are clearly a problem. Have the game check their obnoxiousness vs a set threshold. If they cross said threshold then they are auto muted when entering matches and players will have to unmute them to hear them. Players that are automuted are only not muted by people on their friends list. Automuted people slowly lose their auto-mute status, much like how their mech cools down. Be annoying too often and you'll never be heard again. Be annoying here and there and you'll probably just get a few matches of silence.
- Perma-mute list much like a friends list but for people you can't stand. Anyone you have muted in the last 24 hours should show up on this list as easily clickable and mutable. (A similar list should show up for adding friends. Anyone you played with in the last 24 hours should show up so you can invite them to be your friend. The community features are seriously lacking).

IN GAME

When holding tab to bring up the scoreboard:

- Quick mute toggle by each players name.
- Quick mute all button at top
- Quick mute all but friends
- Quick mute all but group
- Quick mute all but lance

Here's what I think they need to do for VOIP:
1. Lances can only communicate between themselves normally. (4 mechs)
2. Company/Lance Commanders can communicate between each other.

They were talking about modifying the Company Command system, which would be the basis for the CC's interactions with their own and other lances, so I'm interested in having the VOIP like I mentioned complementing it.
