Other than fixing horrible spawn points...It would be nice on the Start Up page if we had indicators on where our lance was spawning on the mini map so we could effectively use that time of hitting the ever so useful "ready" button with also planning our movement.

Being able to see our teams drop points during the ready screen: yes please. This is ... pretty darned important and we need it. It would also bring back a legitimate use for that ready button. Make it toggleable, and the countdown doesn't jump until everybody is ready, like it used to be.

We do need more varied spawns though. Gameplay gets pretty stagnant when everybody knows where everybody is from the get-go. Three or four sets of spawn configurations for each game mode would make the game feel that much more tactical again. Being able to duke it out on those underutilised portions of Alpine would be fantastic.

Some more variety in the conquest cap points, esp. for the large maps, is something else that should be done, but that's another topic.

Point is, all of this should be incredibly easy to implement, and I think PGI should just go for and give us that variety.

Greetings all,

The current 'Smurfy' map section indicates where each spawn location is, the Pilots Lance, A, B, C always drops in the same location.

- If you're in the B lance you always drop in the middle spawn location. A is left and C right.

Having the 'dot' indicated on the blue overlay map would be nice, and gives an indication of the greater terrain references outside your local mini map. But that should be an item that the mini map is capable of also displaying.
- Dynamic size changing.

When the mission is starting the mini map should be zoomed out (same original frame) to a near equal size of the blue map. As the Pilot starts moving the map shrinks to it's default operating size. (all the friendly Mech's would be indicated on the mini map at the start.)
- This should also work for targeting Enemy Mech's, if the Pilot targets a Mech outside the mini maps boundaries it should expand to show that targeted Mech. Indicating terrain and direction to that target.
- Currently we get one size only, the really close in battles are swamped with symbols and difficult to read on the mini map.
(again mini map zooms in to the location of the targeted Mech.)

The only issue is the mini map is not avail during the front mission window and only turns on when the Mech starts up, why we would be in a Battle zone in a fighting machine that is not powered up is another question.
- The blue map image is only a referenced image called up and displayed, it's not an active item on the drop window. So lots of changes would be required to alter this map to be usable and indicate lit locations.

Just some ideas,
9erRed

Love the dynamic mini-map idea and also the variable spawn-locations idea.

Those two simple things along with the spawn indicators on start-map would make this game sooo much better.

Great idea to show the team spawn locations on the map in the right corner during drop prep.
