Bears in zoos live miserable and grey lives. The ones in the 'wild' cross over from elsewhere and get shot by angry farmers with a crap salary.

Just because they exist doesn't mean it's a viable population, 10 bears would result in a bunch of inbreeding and genetic defects to such a degree that even the tube babies would have a hard time justifying their continued existence.

Now this is funny because if anyone in BT universe desire to purge undesirable elements of society its the clans.

Keep in mind, the FRR had some of it's own issues with "undesirables". We don't talk much about that.

True but that was a brief backlash for centuries of occupation and opression.

Why don't you boys and girls stop worrying about these Ghosts and Bears and do the right by giving up your independence and returning to the glorious Combine? You know you want to.

Since I need to spell it out:

Just looking at the numbers posited by the Scandinavian Bear Project, it is estimated that there are 120 brown bears living in Norway. From their DNA testing, there are at least 147 individuals. At least. Although any number of them could be Swedes or (less likely) Finns or Russians that are just crossing over the border, taking a dump, and heading back.

In any case, answering your original question of "Why there are no (or, honestly, very few) bears in Norway?"

Because of the rapid development of the metallic self-contained cartridge, repeating firearms, and nitrocellulose/smokeless powder, combined with the pressures of an exploding human population, increased mechanization of Victorian- and Edwardian-era industrialization, and the arrogance and stupidity of human beings, to include the Norwegian government.

(The same reason why there were no or very few wolves in Montana until the late 90s. Now, hunters cannot keep up with seasonal quotas! Of course, while the brown bear in Montana is an endangered species, it was never completely driven from its ranges in Montana.)

And that makes it OK?

The past is in the past. What concerns me is the present.

Puny discussions and Puny arguments. I deal in lead, Steel and electronically charged particles. The are no clans, no society. Only the battlefield. The pain I will dish out to all those who oppose me will teach you just that.

See you on the field, can't wait to leg' you up, watch you fall, make you burn.

Oh boy, I hope you realize that the Ghost Bears are the only thing protecting you from the DC and later the WoB (and by extension the Manei Domini).

Don't bite the hand that feeds, or in this case, the hand that keeps you safe from the big bads.

Hmmm traitors to FRR.....
Wouldn't that mean that they are loyal to House Kurita or Steiner since as far as we know in this timeline the clans don't exist?
Or do you mean traitors to FRR in the cannon sense - where Ghost Bear conquered the FRR and then integrated their military into the FRR society, thereby protecting it from others? In this case if you're against the Ghost Bear Dominion wouldn't that make you the traitor?

If this game makes it to WoB and all that non-sense, two things have happened. 1) This is a tremendously popular game as it's survived longer than any online game...ever. (Not saying it won't just pointing out that is a long way off) and 2) The bear population in Norway has most likely seen an increase of at least 10 individuals. Wins all around.

Sinitron, I tell you what, you toss PGI, a few hundred thousand dollars so t hey can hire more members for their team, and as such they can provide Clan players with their own faction to join at the start, and you will have no 'traitors'. Ohh, you do not have $500,000 sitting around to toss to PGI? Well then.

Look I think a lot of the Ghost Bears are starting to get fed up with the 'haters gonna hate' members of the FRR. Aside from members of Skjaldborg, a lot of FRR affiliate just seem to not want assistance for half a year when the game launches. Would you prefer my unit, (and I will do my best to drag as many CGB fans as I can) go help out the Combine for half a year, I mean it would prepare us for Operation Revival, right?

CGB players want FRR to be strong, to be a challenge when we get to play the opposing side during 3050, we could join with DC and have the FRR shrink even before the Clans start their first wave.

We are not traitors, we just cannot play our faction at launch, and you want to kick us to the curb?

I agree with Ancient demise, you are the one who is a traitor to the Rasalhague, as CGB and FRR are one in the timeline, whether you like it or not.
