I look upon some of the posts here and I am ashamed of the banner.
I certainly hope that these negative elements are but a vocal minority and not a reflection of the Republic as a whole, or we may as well yield our weapons and go pledge under the rotten combine.

They are a very vocal minority, I believe. Most of us are glad to have allies during the initial stages of the battle.
If you end up leaving for the Clans once the battles begin, then obviously I'll do my best to blast your 'Mechs to pieces in that case, but I'll do it with some measure of respect.

But seriously, you don't think all the houses would lose some warriors if clans become an option? At LEAST for the FRR, the GBC has (maybe not canon anymore) fond feelings for the people here, in a place I am SURE we would love to call home.
Plus, honestly, an IS house with their own clantech manufacturing facilities? You SURE you wanna give up that possible future? Maybe the Dominion is just a dream now, but think of the possibilities...

But Tomas tawess Lönngren mechwarrior in the 1:st huscarls will have no such understanding for the people turning to the clans once this whole mess starts.
But i am glad to see threads like this because it shows that people zare getting invested in their factions and the IC/Clan conflict.

If I am not mistaken the Devs have announced that once the game launches time in the game world will move at a pace of real-world 24 hours. So, between the launch and the invasion of the clans it will be a good several years (a decade even? at what BattleTech-year does the game launch again?).
As such, all this bickering is far beyond moot. Not only is it something in the distant future (not known whether or not will Clans even receive proper faction treatment/features, without which playing in a Clan is just as obsolete and we might as well stay in the Rasalhague Republic), it is also something that by the time it happens the players in question may no longer necessarily be playing the game.
To keep bringing attention to that some of us are Ghost Bear fans/players whereas in all likelihood we're going to be spending a good several years playing under the Rasalhague banner, if we'll keep playing at all (assuming the game doesn't suck, the RMT/F2P microtransaction model won't be like WoT, so on problems that can drive people away from MWO), is downright without any merit and serves naught but tear the faction apart - something which is likely the idea behind insidious elements who dwell upon Internet drama, but not something that any true Rasalhague fan would desire.
Please, do not succumb to hatred and prejudice. We have enough targets to point lasers at as it is.

Also that note to the 24 hour cycle i thought that was about capturing planets and having them produce resources.
example: You capture a planet and then "lock" it for 48 hours.. that would then be 48 actual hours and not 15 minutes acting like 48 hours. This way you have a battlefield that is developing in real.time

That's when they started hitting the Periphery, so we may be seeing more rumors of the invasion in the news. They hit the more organized parts of the Inner Sphere (the parts we as players belong to) in March of 3050.

That was what i was getting at and that is why a can't direct any malice towards people who play IC only as long as the clans are not around.
I am well aware of the timeline in-game =)

it's been stated that they are going to (try) to maintain a 1:1 day for day time frame, as to how successful that will be remains to be seen since we haven't even started day 1 of actual gameplay XD

personally I think it's going to be very interesting if they actually keep it 1:1 -after- the clan invasions, basically going to be non-stop warring over territory, which I think is exactly what they want, we'll see if people will be able to keep up their focus for two and a half years though, unlike the IS and the Clans most of us have real jobs to deal with on top of the invasion, will be interesting to see how they take account for that aspect of the game. (would really suck to lose a territory because you had to work back to back shifts )

I think we will lose a lot of people though..not every one likes the be on the side being pushed back, knowing that they can not do anything about it. Me i am a role-player so i love it. Nothing breeds good stories like defeat and misery.
I hope they make Tukayyid a event then, letting us pilot mechs for the clans or com gurads. it would be pretty cool.

well they said they're going to make history muteable, so if we bull through it maybe we can stop the clan invasion at the start XD (though that would be quite impressive seeing as how we'll still be using IC only gear and they'll have all the clan stuff)
yeah I won't be thinking to hard on Tukayyid since barring a temporal hyperjump it's still three years away at least ^.^
that's kinda why I hope they keep, at least initially, the clans non-player driven, there's already plenty of people who intend to go clan as soon as they're available, it only seems fair that those who don't get the chance to build up on some clan tech before making it FFA.

you clanners go where you like for the interim, it doesn't matter which faction you visit there's going to be nay sayers who aren't going to appreciate your situation, I'm sure there are some who would say clanners should only go merc or independant but I think they're just being foolish, it's a game, if you want to spend your time in Rasalhague until the time comes to do what you -want- then don't let those outspoken minority push you off, just don't play with -them- Far as I'm concerned you could just as easily say nothing about the clans and simply vanish without explanation, at least this way there's no questioning your allegiance, we know where you stand, you just can't stand there -right now-
