Hi,

is it possible to get balistic hardpoints into a Nova Prime? I have seen this in some videos and ingame, but dont know how. I just have 12 energy slots.

Yes. One of the other NVAs has ballistic STs. Since it's an omni mech, you can swap those omnipods in and use the ballistic hardpoints (note this comes with an agility penalty). You can only do this on an owned mech.

The torso omni pods for the Nova-S have 4 total ballistic hardpoints. You can select those omnipods by clicking on the "Omni" button on the left under the section button (where it normally lists: Energy, Equipement, Ammo) in the Configure screen.

Clan mechs have what are called Omnipod slots on every limb and torso. Click on the omnipod slot on the left menu while in the mechlab. It should be listed right below your Energy, Equipment, and Ammo submenu options. Hover over each omnipod to see which ones have ballistic hardpoints (the purple icon, I believe). Then equip that omnipod (you will have to purchase it with C-bills). This will change your hardpoints on your mech.

You can switch the Prime RIGHT arm for the Nova -B right arm ,Omnipod selection is located where you can select ammo , equiptment ,weapons just select omnipods on bottom of the list and pick the one you want.I fit a Uac 2 on my prime with 2 tons of ammo and 4 ER medium lasers on left arm , its not to bad a fit but i do find the Uac2 dose jam a lot still its good fun.

they are meant to be used after armor is gone, not to get rid of the armor like most people do.

they can get rid of armor but thats when you need a few tons of ammo.

for the OP, if you OWN the nova prime you have to go to the mech bay and select the Right torso or Left torso then click the button for "omni pod" then you have to purchase the NVA S omnipod part. Treat it just like a weapon or piece of equipment. if you mouse over the omnipod piece you get information about it

In MWO yes, but the mechs were designed for BT TT.

No, they were as good as AC2's (2damage/turn) but at a much shorter range obviously :)

An AC/2 or AC/5, while they can sort of fit, are wasted on the Nova. The Nova has extra heat sinks that you can't remove (may as well boat lasers) and standard structure/armor (no tonnage for the dakka).

25 rounds is quite a bit of ammo.

100 per half ton, 4 guns. 8 heatless damage.

25 rounds = 25 rounds in TT. That's 25 turns.

Won't last long in MWO since PGI forgot to increase ammo/ton.

It's not even that.

MG in TT, 1 turn eats 1 ammo. In MWO, 10 second eats 100 ammo. So, 100 times RoF, 10 times ammo.

It makes me wish PGI put the Nova-S as a trial instead of the prime. At least people would enjoy the wub... but I don't think Paul would allow for that. :)

Might I recommend removing 30% of your armour and throwing some Dakka on one side.

Gauss or UAC10 in the torso, 4 or 5 ERMLs. It's quite fun.
