I noticed that when I downloaded the patcher for the public test server, it wanted me to download all of the game files once again in the test server directory. Is it possible to just copy and paste all the game files from the normal install directory into the test directory?

Or am I just going about this completely wrong, and there is a simple way to use the test server?

The test server is not the same game version as the life one we are playing on currently. I doubt a simple copy and paste will work in this case and you are probably summoning all kinds of software demons to haunt you.

Run the installer, interrupt the downloads, copy folder from regular client, run MWO Repair Tool.

May not work but if it fails, you'll probably be no worse off than if you just installed in the normal fashion, I believe. However, use at your own risk as I've only used this method to duplicate the standard MWO client in different comps to save time.

Greetings all,

As stated, let the Beta Test Server install it's 'stuff'.

- It installs to a different location and has different files and components than the 'Live' version.
- It's got the latest patch material, some Dx9 files, and additional map data.

Do not copy the 'Live' items to the test server location, VERY bad karma and so many issues will arise.
- Different hash checks, different file sizes, just different.
