This notion that just because you play Hol, SJR, Aces, et al, means you have some quasi-mystical degree of game knowledge is truly precious. And mostly idiotic.

The reality is though, most of those folks DO in fact understand the game to a far greater degree than the majority of players. It's actually not simply that they have better reflexes. Certainly, many of them are better shots, but probably one of the biggest differentiators between competitive teams and average players is based on how they play and maneuver on the field. For instance, you'll never see good teams walk up to a ridge and then cower on one side of it, waiting for something to happen. But you'll see that behavior with bad teams ALL THE TIME.

Bad teams will just do the same thing over and over and over again.. but if you watch the twitch streams from folks like Heim, you see that they actually experiment with various new approaches, to see how things play out.

You are mischaracterizing those players, largely as a result of preconceptions based on their expressed personalities in game.

And again, all of that sidesteps the issue that you are faulting them for using builds which are clearly the best, rather than laying the blame squarely where it belongs, at that is at the feet of PGI for making a game system where such a small set of weapons are clearly superior to others.

The CERLL nerf is being changed to something a lot more reasonable. Then again i also thought the nerf hit too hard on that one. I usually get used to nerf and dont ***** about them but i do not want to use a two seconds hitscan weapon ever.

I find that some of the IS weapon modules are not worth.
IS small laser and IS SRMs (to include streak) range should be extended more. Normal range boost is ok but max range should be made to 50 meter-ish.
IS flamer is definitely not worth it at 1 meter per level. 5 meters per level would be more ideal.
IS medium and small pulse lasers seem to get jiped on range boost as well.

IS Erll Is Basically The Only Chang That Defiantly Didn't Need To Happen They Better Not Incorporate That In The Final Patch Next Week. Myself And Tons.Others R Gonna Be Pissed And Probably Just Go With The IsLL With Range Mod 5 good out to 1000 now or r they messing with that timing as well?

Well, as feared the changes are comming on the 5th , lets see if our fears are true, and if we are able to say with certanty that: YES WE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO, WE WILL TELL YOU (PGI) NOT TO DO IT, AND YOU WILL STILL DO IT ANYWAY....

Why increase the heat so much for the CLPL and MPL? I thought the adjustments to the LL's made LPL's more worthy but adding the extra heat kinda nulls it. Aren't the clans supposed to have vastly superior pulse lasers anyways?...

First the lead designer responds to the balance designer's thread saying he is overruling the heat penalty change, now they almost completely reverse his duration change. Almost like they had some sort of intervention at the office.

They were like, "Paul, (link)."

I wounder if the IS ErL is also in there too with extra heat on ErS and ErM with range reduction.
