I invested because:

A) I love this universe, always have and always will
:P I've played every single Battletech game since crescent hawk's revenge
C) I'm addicted to giant battling piloted robots....How addicted? I've watched Robot Jox a million cajillion times...

What risk??? I GET GIANT BATTLING ROBOTS WITH ME IN DA COCKPIT!!! ONLINE!!! SHOW MY FRIENDS!!! OMGPWNZRZ!!!

ahem... ok... 'nuff of the fanboi :)

I agree with the sentiment. Hopefully they don't cheapen the investment by re-releasing these special mechs 3 months from now :)

Oh the shame - start with the Crescent Hawk's Revenge means you've missed out on....
The Crescent Hawk's Inception! ;-)

hehe I'm not going to bring up Robot Jox.. I too was a willing victim of it.
May I add a D) The haters are gonna hate but the lovers are gonna love [this game!]

Come on people, it's not like it is an investment in BetaMax. MW and BT have been guaranteed great investments for 25 years (with the only possible exception coming from an xbox sequal port). Is there really any risk? I only hope that they can use the financial infusion to iron out the last of the bugs and start spraying on the "mech primer" to get these Beasts moving.

The game is F2P. Paying $30-$40 on a game that is free in exchange for automatic rewards isn't exactly a risk. You're simply purchasing a game. You're getting in game cash and a subscription account if you buy the higher tiers. If anything, your investment to the future of the project would outweigh the risks considering that money will go towards supporting the future expansions to the game. I trust the MechWarrior franchise just as much as I would any franchise that sticks to its license.

Anyone else here paid ~$60 for games they played all of 10 hours? Let's see here: Starcraft 2, Star Wars Force Unleashed, Wings of Prey, Brink, Far Cry 2, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising... and more on console.

I'm pretty certain I'll get a heck of a lot more than that out MWO. Its all relative really.
