Thanks, Jump 7 is a mystery (well not really).
5 &6 are some what unusual also, 6 is an OVH ip 37..... but supposedly in Montreal but as they are cloud servers who knows, 1ms from France to Montreal? nice then an 80ms jump in ping for last hop that should be the service(server) that MWO is using.
http://myip.ms/view/...0_37.187.36.255 (looked up info of that 37.187.36 ... on youre trace.
A couple of other EU traces would be interesting.
Very helpful, im pretty sure i got an idea of the situation now.
Interesting to hear that PGI also has the ability to route the game.

Where did you read that PGI can route the game? As far as I know the only thing they can do is gather data on the high ping routes from information sent in my customers and then contact the ISP/internet backbone provider and submit a trouble ticket on routing issues asking them politely to change the routing/peering to provide faster access. PGI doesn't have any real control or influence on how the internet is put together, how packets are routed or whether the issue is packet loss or high latency.

High latency causes some issues but if the level is consistent the game is probably playable ... on the other hand, packet loss is also a possible culprit for some of the symptoms described here.

In a post by the Devs concerning the break in the lines at Newark where some data cable was broken, they specifically say they re routed so the NA customers affected could play..

Yes, but that's when an entire cable was damaged, and the network had to re-route differently. Mostly on their end.

I think the way it was phrased might be a bit confusing. They can't do what you were suggesting though. That is beyond their control. All they can do, is ask the ISPs to help out.

I wasnt suggesting anything, just quoting what their network engineer said, what are you suggesting that he didnt know what he was saying or that he mislead people by what he stated?.
Either way he did state it so you may want to take it up with him, im only repeating what he said.

question is..., "Will this ever be solved for us?" or are we stuck with 350-400 ping in australia with MWO for ever?

also, telstra customer service will not help.. ever.

I play with some guys in Australia who get pings closer to 250, but by sheer physics, that's probably about as good as it's realistically going to get.

As long as the Community Warfare map is shared, and I don't have to have more than one account, I would probably be inclined to support regional servers.

More along the lines of maybe you misunderstood/misinterpreted what he said.

Im in Wagga Wagga (~500km west of Sydney) and my ping is ~255ms, seems more stable after the move, although I can't really prove the stability statement.

Im using iiNet ADSL.

My ping has been sitting sweet at 245ms last couple of weeks.

Now it's back up to 305ms. I'm with Telstra ADSL2+ in Brisbane.

Anyone else having issues? Increased latency happens in the US, last 6 hops.

Not sure how many of you are in the South East Asia region, but this might be affecting your connection.
http://www.lowyat.ne...southeast-asia/
Repairs will only start on 1st Oct and estimate to complete on 6th.
Currently connection to North America is being rerouted, believe to be, through Japan.

My Ping jumped from 230 to 350+ lately, used to be 250 before the server move.
