So, in the 1990’s, I used to play Mechwarrior 2 via an online chat-room based gaming site (Mplayer). The site allowed 4-v-4 teams to battle it out, and we kept track of wins and losses on a separate website. The combination created a deeply involved community warfare style gaming experience that encouraged various units to challenge each other, and provided a method for us to practice among ourselves as well.

• My suggestion: Have a tab in the User Interface that accesses a room based chat area where members can create custom rooms. There could also be pre-made permanent rooms for the various factions and houses, clans or mercs. This area would encourage units to communicate between and among each other, make alliances or challenges, set up battles, as well as just hang out and spend time B.S.ing between solo drops on a slow day. I think giving the members an area where they can really hang out in a communally controlled environment would enhance the games community warfare aspects by leaps and bounds.

And knowing PGI, it would most likely crash the game all the time.

Good points, but it would be something nice....but I doubt they will do it if they said so already.
