i dont have a favorite mech yet, iam lost... I know timber wolf could be my mech of choice, but i refuse to buy it cuz its op and all pilot it (even bad pilots do ok in a timby, its a fact).. Iam always looking for the next mech announcement for "my" mech but still no luck..

A stalker-M with one balliztic in each torso would have been my fav for sure. A catapult K2 with 5-10 more ton would also have been a contender...

So at the moment i play and wait.... its lonely and dark.

So what are you saying here? You want an (IS) assault that can mount torso ballistics on both sides? You're aware that when it comes along it will probably be viewed as "OP" and "all pilot it" because it's the only one that can, right? :P

King Crab and Mauler are both rumoured. Keep waiting.

I don't seize to amaze how ignorant could one be even with the "Founders" badge in his profile.
As I'm again amazed from the "HAI! I DON HUV A CLAN MECH, NEITHER I'VE PILOTED ONE BUT MAAAH THEY OP!!" argument.
Shame on you you've been playing this game for so long and still don't bother for getting out of the box of your own personal point of view.
Sigh...

Aside of that - to the topic:
If you wan't some anti-clan stuff that work really well in solo Q --> that would be LRMs. 50+ is the best option you can get for clan wrecking paired with being really, really careful to never be behind your whole group, nor be in front.
Stalkers still are top-notch in terms of being able to kill stuff - Med Ls, SRMs, LLs - put some thought in the build and you'll be fine.
The next contestant is the good old SRM/AC20 Atlas D-DC - that thing never gets old and still is a force no one should mock. Clan or no clan.
Brawler victors share their place with the D-DC in the things people fear(in my opinion - I play all sorts of builds, mostly brawlers, but still - I always consider that mech as a serious threat when I see it on the field).
Banshees got everything I dreamed for before the clans hit the game - multiple ballistic slots or/and energy slots - they could tear appart anything that don't pay them the needed attention.

The way you've put your statement(ignoring the annyoing(for me) part) I actually think you'll like Banshees best and they could be your next favorite mech.
So get one and give it a go.

Maybe you could try changing up your play-style to find something new to enjoy, have you considered the noble locust? It is the first mech our noble Tetatae piloted and as such has a deep significance to my people.

Buy a Direwhale at the end of September. It can mount pretty much anything anywhere. It is slow until Elited, but once Elited, it is easily one of the best mechs in the entire MWO selection. Not to mention the amount of troll build one can try with it.

was just typing about fav mechs, not clan crushers or op this that... Its just that i dont have a mech i like.... and yea i have Direwhale (its easymode, but enough about that, and the TW still need nerf no matter what:p)

I just dont have like "the" mech where i like enjoy myself.... Did like the jester with ppc though, but the nerf of ppc made it so hard to enjoy so it now have ERLL's....

And my fav mech need to look good and have decent hardpoint ;)

- ahhh a K2 with 300XL with dual lbx10 and still enough room for 2 LL and 2ml. that would be my dream :)

So far my favorite mechs are Locust, Commando, Raven, Centurion, Catapult and Stalker. Mostly because of the variating hardpoint placements and ease of use. Got my heart racing in all of them with close combat (some of which I managed to come out victorious). Long and Medium range combat isn't as exciting but it helps to learn all ranges so you can keep a clear head when the feeling comes around of "crap.. I may not live through this" and just say "I'm going to take out as many of their components as possible before they take me out!"

I know how you feel OP......I have 62 mechs and frankly I'm mediocre in ALL of them. Its actually kind of amazin just how mediocre I am. I used to be a pretty solid Jenner pilot, but I dunno the game has changed and the loadouts for it are really vanilla and static (like theres 1 build for the Jenny-F and maybe 2 for the D that anyone uses). So I began a mission many months go to just elite out all the crappy mechs. You know things like Commandos, Dragons, Quickdraws, Awesomes, and now Adders, Novas, Summoners. Hmmmm maybe tats why Im so mediocre, I spend a lot of time in inferior mechs.

Honestly, I want a king crab, not for what it packs or any lore or anything...

I just want to play a battle crab out of nostalgia for my mech in S.L.A.I. I'd prefer a smaller crabby design with ballistic arms. Something in the 40 - 45 ton range.

*It can take an extremely long time to come up with a favourite mech. Take advantage of the test server whenever it becomes available to try all the different mechs, focusing first on the ones that fit your playstyle then expanding outward from there.

With clan lasers likely taking some very heavy hits soon, you might find that Timberwolf to be balanced.

Going with Clan mechs might not be a safe bet because only 2-3 of them qualify as better than the IS, and the few that do will be getting the whole Clan arsenal nerfed down so that the 2-3 best Clan mechs = average IS mechs but the sub-par Clan mechs (like the Suckoner and Badder) will be nearly unusable. The Gato Loco in particular will almost certainly be given extremely massive agility nerfs, putting it in the same bin as the Victor (runs in a straight line faster than assaults but has the agility of a mech 20 tons heavier than itself for some odd reason).

IS mechs are much less likely to get nerfed for the most part, so they are more "future proof."

I would personally recommend a Shadow Hawk, because it has such a wide variety of roles it can cover. It can snipe, it can brawl, it can dakka, it can pew pew, it can chase, it can tank, it can jump, it can Lurm, and it can do everything in between. Its only real limitation is that it's "just" a medium, but otherwise it's a solid robot.

Based on your hints in the OP, though, you seem like you want dual ballistics access and more tonnage than a Catapult K2. Perhaps the Cataphract might work, although it can sometimes have side torso issues with XL engines (needed to pack in the most dakka).

Variety is the spice of life. I pick a mech out of my 30+ in the garage, played until I get the daily x2 bonus (sometimes 1 match, sometimes more), then pick another.
