Update: 10/02/2014

The 256th / ARMD issue has been amicably resolved and I would like to thank both parties concerned. I would also like to thank Dirk Le Daring, King Arthur IV and Live1991 for their willingness to sit on the Tribunal and their assistance in resolving the issue notwithstanding that no Tribunal decision was eventually required.

The finalized Challenge results, updated Group Standings have been updated and posted here. If nothing else, the new site will allow FF333 to post, update, etc directly in future :)

Although the new site is up, we will continue using this thread and the MWO forums for the current season while transitioning some functions to the new site.

Moving forward, I will be trying to meet up with all participants before their matches just to check that everyone is aware of the applicable rules as it is time to tighten up compliance. In order to do so, I would appreciate if the team liaisons for this week's Challenges let us know when these matches are taking place. So far only the 228th / OMC has a confirmed date / time.

There needs to be some restrictions/rules regarding changing mechs/players in between games in the future. Right now boring my socks off because of the wait for the match between F8L and NMNM.

Either that, or encourage teams to be prepared with all the mechs they need so little or no prep time is required.

we all know how we feel about the ui. its just very..... sluggish. so between changing builds and player rotation it can take some time.

if we do make restriction, we need to keep that in mind.

Well I am not sure which stream you were watching, but the NGNG stream actually streamed the first match live. I let Jay Z know and he informed Netherdawn of the problem and it was corrected for the subsequent matches. This would add extra time to the second and third match.

As far as preparation goes, F8L used the same players throughout the matches and we had a drop configuration already prepared along with all our players being ready and rostered beforehand. We wanted to rotate players to give everyone a go. We are one of the few teams who do this. The rules do stipulate a penalty for occasions like this but F8L didn't mind and were admirably patient. So I do apologise to the viewers of the stream, but there were a few variables that were at play at the time.

First two images of the 228th vs OMC games. Sorry, we all forgot to snap the last one. Hoping one of the 228th got it. Thanks.

Yes, it wasn't that we were all throwing our keyboards out the window or anything because of the horrendous stomping that 228 gave us in game 3 :P

Just for the record Mr Bear informed me a short while ago that they were forfeiting their matches due to having insufficient number of players.

Quoting Mr Bear, some of their members are having serious difficulties due to living in Hong Kong and have players down due to medical issues.

We only played two friendlies to compensate but in both events TPL still won.

I have been streaming for quite a while on a few channels (NGNG, mwopro, jay_z_)

Heya jayz, watching a twitch stream of a match for the first time ever.. constructive criticism... put something at the back to cover that damn airconditioner, like hang a sheet or curtain or get a printout of an innershere map .. its all i keep looking at :)

hong kong is really screwed right now. its in the middle of big a$$ riots and all, to the point they even need to bring in tanks to try resolve the issue. the city is small and loads of stuff is blocked so, getting to work and home is difficult and maybe even dangerous. RL > mech life, not even joking :D

Hi all,
Apologies to all. I have spoken to King Arthur about our current situation and I think for season 2 we'll most likely be fielding a joint team of F8L/256th to get around this kind of situation from reoccurring.

I'm sure that if we didn't grab an EOM screen shot for game three, we can screen cap it from Jay Z's stream.

Congrats to OMC for three very well played matches ... to simplify the scoring, it was 2 wins (OMC) to 1 win (228th), and OMC moves on to face TPL in Round 4.

If any of the teams want to join us for some scrims in the next month or so, or just get together for some good old fashioned queue rolling, please stop by the mercstar TS3 (LINK) or contact Jay Z or I.

good idea, the only reason we had a full team was because I was on babysitting duty yesterday (children's Day - no school no day care)...

Special thanks to apostal who showed up to check if we had enough players (officially in our roster)

I spoke with Deadfire on Mercstar to organise a new channel for the HPL. He was very helpful.

Thanks for self checking your team like that before launching, this is what Paragon and I were hoping would mostly happen to keep administration as simple as possible.
