I definitely can't make it at 22:00 AEDT and didn't know Daylight savings had kicked in for you guys. Let me check with FF333 to see if he can get it started at 22:00 AEDT as 23:00 seems a little late for this for you guys.

Quite sure most of the Asian based players won't be there till around 23:00 to 24:00 AEDT or later to be honest.

On a Friday night, I'm ready to start whenever ... if you're looking for some good old-fashioned Private Lobby fun, whether that's group vs group, solo challenges, or a free-for-all I can help with hosting the matches earlier.

For what it's worth, Vercinix's "Mech Madness" (on his NGNG stream about a year ago) was one of the things that got me interested in 228th IBR ... I'd be more than happy to use that format for the free-for-alls.

I hand my thesis in earlier that day (tomorrow........oh snap). If you are still going when I get back from post-thesis celebrations, I'll join for sure. I apologise in advance if I collapse during said activities. These last two or so weeks have been crazy and after it lets up a bit in 3 weeks' time (exams! yay), I'll get back to streaming and organising lobby stupidity.

Unless anyone has a better idea, I am more than happy to help organize a good fun series of 'mech madness (see the draft and flexible rules in the spoiler below) on the MercStar TS3 starting at 1100 GMT (7pm AWST/Singapore/Hong Kong, 8pm Japan, 9pm AEST, 10pm AEDT).

'Mech Madness Rules

(1) The type of 'mech will be selected by the organizer, examples:
- bring a specific trial 'mech (usually the first round)
- Light, Medium, Heavy, or Assault IS (if you don't have the selected type, bring a trial)
- Light, Medium, Heavy, or Assault Clan (will need to be careful here, as not everyone will own Clan 'mechs, and not all classes have trials)
- Your best or favorite 'mech (usually the final round)
(2) If anyone, for any reason not agreed to by the organizer, brings a 'mech that is not the type of 'mech for that match (i.e.: the category is "IS Light" and you bring a medium) see Alternate start sequence
(3) For some matches the organizer and one other may choose to only spectate, in order to ensure we don't have several 'mechs from the same team as the final 'mechs, and to whittle it down to one survivor ... strangely enough this very rarely happened when Vercinix ran mech madness, and there are alternate victory conditions
(4) The map will be chosen by the organizer, game mode will be skirmish, the combat area will be a relatively flat, relatively open area limited by recognizable visible boundaries described by the organizer
(5) All 'mechs assemble roughly evenly spaced in a circle facing the organizer, radius based on the number of participants
- up to 8 ... 100m
- 9-12 ... 150m
- 13-16 ... 200m
- 17 or more ... 250m
(6) Turn your HUD off (Right-shift F11)
- note, this means that bringing streaks is kind of silly ... it can and has been done, but you might want to avoid it
- note, when you spectate another player (after you get blown up), their HUD will be visible to you ... this does not mean that their HUD is activated
(7) Start sequence
- the organizer launches a UAV (and if participating, moves into position in the circle - if not participating, gets the hell out of the way)
- when the UAV hits the ground, 'mech madness begins
(8) Alternate start sequence
- the organizer takes position in the circle with everyone else
- the player which brought the wrong type of 'mech is not "one of us", and must turn on his HUD and move to the middle of the circle
- while he is moving, everyone else chants "one of us"
- once he reaches the middle of the circle, he powers down and everyone else shoots him, punishing him for being a scrub
- when the offending 'mech is destroyed, 'mech madness begins
(9) Victory conditions
- one 'mech remains standing (obvious winner)
- more than one 'mech on the same team remain standing ... the living player with the most total kills (enemy and team kills) wins ... ties are ties ... oh, well ... it's just for fun, anyway

@Paragon ... trying to schedule events around here has been educational for me as well.

Turns out that in part of the year there are five six (I missed one) time zones active in Australia.

Good grief ... both AEST and AEDT are currently operating depending on which state? No wonder I've been getting confused.

Queensland doesn't observe daylight saving time, while all the states to the south on the east coast do observe it. I believe it has something to do with them being so close to the equator. That and it reinforces the belief that Queenslanders can only count to 10.
