I was on the understanding that the zoom module would (when used) open up a zoom box inside of the zoom window while piloting any mech for finer targeting.
When zooming in any mech I have installed the module into - there is no zoom improvement.
doesn't change on any map.

The advanced zoom module is on a separate key bind. You can go directly in and out of it. I think "v", but it has been a while. Check your key bindings in options.

v works - would be nice if it could be a next step in the zoom level - like press z to zoom in once, z again to zoom in more and then z a third time to engage the module if so equipped.

Greetings,

If you have the zoom key binding set for one of it's options, it will indeed use the additional zoom level as it's last magnification.
- I have mine linked to the mouse wheel and if that module is installed it's activated when rolled in.

Well, it would be nice if hits were registering properly, too. But then, this is PGI.
