The other day I noticed a post on using various animals as well as humans as part of MWO. Now I have issued one animal known formally as the Biox, but this got me to thinking.

The Signalman

Description: A light grey figure waving an orange torch over his head. The torch or flare allows him to be seen easily.

The Signalman is just that, a figure of intrest on the game. If approached to within 20 meters he will move towards the Mech and vanish

Picking up a Signalman: 50 C-Bill reward as a rescue.
Killing a Signalman: 5,000 C-Bill fine from the Mercenary Board:

Health Points: 3

I don't get it. Are you saying that you want an Easter egg in MWO?

more work for PGI? I mean the idea's cute, and hey maybe it would be easy implementation, but I'd really prefer they gave us more maps before they started inserting little easter eggs into them.

This is not an Easter egg. It is an A.I. figure to add depth to the game. A moving figure in the game. Yes we need maps. But we also need some details to give the game life. We are fighting on basically dead worlds.

No, he's talking about having objectives in the game aside from "shoot them all"

It was pretty obvious to me...

A moving figure, you mean unlike my pug-bros? Could be interesting...

KaliMaster you don't need a signalman just shoot the AI mechs in the solo MM queues. As the player base has shrunk PGI has intraduces AI bots so have fun.

I dunno - I'd be less desperate for maps if I could run around squishing people. Flamers? Muahahaha!

I'd better like some infantry that comes to meet you when you approach enemy's base, firing their useless weapons, so you can stomp them...

50 CBills? So you'd have to rescue what, 1,000 of them just to buy a small laser? Some reward. Probably couldn't even buy a beer with that.

I'd pretend to rescue them, then hold them hostage and ransom them for 10,000 Cbills.

(hey it's hard out here for a merc. AMS ammo ain't cheap.)

He wants a character you could optionally rescue during CW matches.

This brings me to an intresting point actually... For CW... when you die in your mech, you should be able to eject, and run around as a Mechwarrior on the ground.

A teammate could stop, allow you to climb onboard, and they would get a "Rescue" bonus to their c-bill gain for the match.

It would be an interesting, additional little indepth bit of gameplay really.
