Interesting! About how much would that translate to in total labor cost for your typical 10 DHS 'Mech then?

Took me a while to figure out how to find out. Anyway it turns out I need two technicians so that one can do maintanence. The mech kept falling apart every time I tried to rebuild the inside. So after losing 3 Hunchbacks, I figured out how to do it.

Changing the engine to 250, replacing all the SHS with 18 DHS, changing the Gyro.
3 months and 28 days.

Two technicians, 5 assistant technicians.
Monthly Salary For Support Personnel: 7,120 cbills. <--This is a total for all 7 personnel under hire, per month. Roughly 4 months comes to 28,480 cbills.

Refitting was done without a refit kit (so from scratch) on a Hunchback 4P in a Maintenance Bay. No overtime was authorized, each member worked 6 hours a day.

So dirt cheap.

Total costs:
8 double heatsinks at 3,000 each: 24,000 cbills. (the other 10 will be part of the ordered engine).
1 Standard 250 engine at 416,666 cbills.
1 standard gyro (a size upgrade compared to the original was required to stabilize the mech with a larger engine) at 450,000 cbills.

Running it again without teleporting in the parts...
All parts received as fully functional. (this isn't very common to be honest, usually something gets broken in transport.)
This attempt was quite a bit shorter, 1 month + shipping time (83 days). This is due to a better of technicians this time.

Hyperspace Navigator 0

Aero Tech 0
Battle Armor Tech 0
Astech 6
Doctor 0
Medic 0
Admin/Command 0
Admin/Logistical 0
Admin/Transport 0
Admin/HR 0
Total Support Personnel 8
Monthly Salary For Support Personnel: 9,360

So this second time it cost me 890,666 for all the parts.
It cost me 9,360 * 3 = 28,080 cbills to have the techs do maintenance and make the conversions.

Of course, this the astechs (assistant techs) weren't needed for the entire ordeal just the conversion so my actual cost is probably quite a bit lower.

These new technicians also did a far better job at keeping the mech running too.
-----------
Fun fact: Looking at the purchase list... an engine of 200 engine size for a 50 ton mech is not the same price as it is for a 100 ton mech.

Lets use a 300 engine as an example.
For a 50 ton mech a standard 300-rating Fusion engine is 1,000,000 even.
For a 50 ton mech the XL 300-rated fusion engine is 4,000,000.
For a 100 ton mech the standard 300 rated fusion engine is 2,000,000.
For a 100 ton mech the XL 300-rated fusion engine is 8,000,000.

These require upgrades to gyros, too, together with the gyro the cost of having/using the 100 ton mech's XL 300 engine winds up being about 12 million.

How about.. we double all the prices of the upgrades!

No?

Could we at least get descriptions of what the upgrades do?
Pricetags ain't newbie friendly but neither is the fact that you're not even told what the magical upgrades to.. preferably with plain english so no confusion, and with that hint of truth that double heatsinks aren't in fact.. double <.<
