lolwut?

Mudhutwarrior we found your pug problem! its bots!!

The PUG queue can't be made up of bots.

Straight from the Cryengine AI link "intelligently respond to the game environment and maintain the illusion of realism." I've never seen that in a PUG drop ;)

He is right. It is pretty easy to modify the cryengine "grunt" AI to be a mech. Making it manage heat and be a good bot would be hard but make it play like a scrub? no problem.

It is easy to break down the Client and extract information to make Mech AI units very easy in fact. The clue that gave away that PGI might be filling in battles with AI bots was the AI pathing on the maps .I started to notice trial mechs trying to shoot through objects when they had a target lock with any weapons they had available from spectator mode.

I also noticed these trial mechs moved in un natural ways on the maps compared to a human player that 90% of the time stays with a group and conservers ammo on targets he cannot hit.

You actually think there are AI players in soloqueue? You give PGI far too much credit - you actually believe that they can write up AI scripts that are good enough to make you question whether a player is AI or not.

Oh the game is dying alright, every nerf patch they pull out the more player simply drops. The fact they cant seem to do balance in any logical ways except nerf everything at once kill players depending on their tolerance limit to stupidity. I see the same names over and over again, yes they have over 2 millions registered players but only a few are actually playing.

The biggest thing you see are Founders and people posting less on forums.

My opinion is that you are wrong. Yes some things have been over nerfed. There have been some buffs as well. It is not all one direction. Balancing is and should be an ongoing process.

As for numbers my group just topped our 100th member last night! Going strong, we had close to 30 active just last night.
Go Comstar Irregulars! (Had to plug!). At some levels you will see the same players more often. It most likely indicates you are a reasonably good player in a higher bracket.

You see a increase of freebies. But as far i can guess a small amount of old men (who pays for the game) are probaly keeping it alive.

Like most of the games, a small portion of high paying players keeps it running.

Atleast i wouldn't be surpised. But would love to know actual numbers.

can we have that as warhorn. being a big bobble head figurine?

I would pay money again for a warhorn that had DeForrest Kelly saying "He's Dead Jim" every time I got a kill. Very little even tempts my to spend money in this game, and that would be automatic.

Player counts are something we have all cried for from the moment they removed them (during the beta). They have never told us why, so the assumption that it was to hide low player numbers has taken root. Honestly I don't care if the numbers are low, I'd still like to see the player count. Few players make us special.

But then we have the bots... Those dreadful, fearful bots. I don't feel so special knowing that at least half the headshots, perfect airstrikes (impossible for humans), and sneaky sneaking up behind me when I'm using advanced zoom are because of fiendish AI, not me at all, and there was literally nothing I could do.

What's more, this news implies that individual lurms really do have the tear seeking AI that we all knew they did...

If World of Planes has a player counter that is usually below 5k why does MWO not.

Because they are afraid if people actually saw the numbers they would stop spending money, and IGP needs the money.

Simples.

As to AI? pfft i don't care how easy people claim modding the grunt is, this is PGI.

It aint happening folks

Ok.. this is definitely original.

No AI bots. :)

MWO is not dying and continues to grow, and PGI is dedicated to continuing to develop, add, and build upon what we have created so far. There is no end in sight for us!
