Why Aren't Camo Patterns Available For Hero And Prime Variants?

As for Clan mechs though. I don't see why that camo is locked. Maybe that Clan scheme idea is similar to the WWII allied scheme used in the D-Day invasion of Normandy *shrug*. It was a specific camo scheme for the invasion of the IS. I'm just guessing.

This may actually be part of the reason why it is like it is.
But ask yourself: Would i play more Invasion/Hero mechs if i could change the pattern? The only thing besides center hardpoints preventing clan players from playing invasion mechs exclusively is the lack of camo patterns (provided that you have basiced all 3 variants already). In general i have to say that clan invasion mechs have a huge advantage compared to founder, phoenix and hero mechs from the IS due to the omnipod system.
So i think they rather have us play non CBill mechs for aesthetic reasons, then gaining some MC for changed patterns.

One of the reasons i don't even bother to unlock colours is that i can't colour my primes the way i'd like as they can't get camo patterns.
People whinge enough they change things, perhpas we shoulkd whinge about the camo patterns not on prime variants enough and they'll change there stance for us. they do on everything else and for once this is something i think they should change.
Invasion mechs have supposely different geomentry, i can't tell. and as far as making them stand out, there no different from other variants in the clans so i can't see the point in having them have to stand out unlike with hero mechs.
As for hero mechs, i find it also baffling you pay for the mech, but you can't use the colours of that hero mech for other mechs.

Russ has really been focused on community feedback.
Well I don't see one person here that disagrees that camo on primes should be swappable.
Hereos, different story. Would like to see PGI weigh in on this.
Owning the unique geometry should be a privilege, not a punishment. We should be able to switch in and out of it as we please as we paid a lot of money for those prime(i) mechs, IMHO. Hereos, have a unique story so I understand why those shouldn't change.

I could understand if a heromech was truly unique like the arms and legs are completely unrecognizable... but with the exception of the Invasion mechs this isn't the case.
To bad hte prime warhawk doesnt keep it's geometry of having those really long gun barrels that the warhawk has.....it just looks kinda odd with them stubby things.

I agree. But for that to happen, we'd need to establish two things:
1) A standardized set of sizes for each weapon type. That way a PPC = a PPC, no matter what mech you put it on. Currently on some mechs you get a PPC...

and on some mechs you get a tiny machine gun that they call a PPC.

Keep in mind, of the two mechs, the Shadowhawk is factually larger than the Kintaro. So why is its PPC smaller?
2) In order to warrant the amount of space it would take to do a standardized weapon scale, it'd need to be made so that some mechs can't equip them (because if you made it so that you had a full-sized PPC and slap it on the arm of a Firestarter, that other energy hardpoint needs room for its laser unless somehow it's made so that you can fit the PPC properly in place (taking up both spaces and then some). In other words... the only feasible way of doing it is with sized hardpoints. Something that in the long run I believe would actually help to diversify mechs.

The colors used on hero mechs are not available for sale, actually. Sometimes you can't even buy anything similar, as is the case with the Heavy Metal's magenta.
