And this is Paul's problem how? He didn't invent the stock configurations of the 'Mechs.

He did sign off on the badly broken heat implementation in MWO, AND he came up with Ghost Heat, so he's not wholly innocent here either.

If you're arguing for better tutorials and less of a brick-cliff learning curve for new players? WELCOME TO THE REST OF US. People have only been asking for that since MWO was a thing. This is hardly the way to add your vote to that appeal, though. The man already avoids the forums like the plague because everyone in the forums insists he is a plague. If you had people threatening your job, your livelihood, and even your health and family over every decision you make ever, would you want to talk to them?

It's my opinion that he should do so anyways, but I'm also willing to let that communication be via official dev chair posts, like he already does. I do not expect nor require the man to slum around in the trenches down here with the scheissen-flingers the way Niko does, considering he's probably the single most hated individual in all of Piranha around these parts. If you figure throwing a sarcastic video his way is going to get him to break cover, you clearly don't even forum, bro.

Threatening my lively hood and family, yes, I have spoken with people like that, face to face, I served in Iraq after all.

I am not making any threats, just a few videos (pending upload) to Paul with love.

No threats involved.

It was in fact intended to cause discussion, not this amount of bashing.

Ehem, spamming your button in less than 0.5sec intervall is the same as groupfiring.
You just showed how fast ghost heat can push your heat.
chainfire = hold the trigger, not spamm it.

I was holding the trigger, group one has 9 lasers in chain fire, group two has 3 lasers in chainfire.

Spamming would blow it up much faster. :P

How many DHS did you have?
Could you compare the speed with a 9MPulse Hunchback with similar number of sinks in a video?

As if there was ever any doubt.

Don't criticize Paul, you'll end up in K-Town and/or banned.

I didn't criticize, just to Paul with Love, and a gold mech exploding in overheat.

It sure did cause a lot of bashing though.

10 DHS, and quick update for ya. 9 Medium Pulse Lasers is .9 heat efficiency out of 2.

12 ER Clan Medium Lasers is .8~ with the same amount of DHS.

Oh, and I had to use an XL to get the same amount of DHS, used a 275 (max size).

If I counted right, that was 14 shots in 13 seconds (before overheating) So... 400 base range, 12 tons, 98 damage, 84 heat.

IS equivalent would either be... 2 LPL at 350 range, 14 tons. It would take just over 9 shots to get, so... 19.25 seconds (not counting skills) 95.4 damage. 72 heat.
* I suppose that doesn't take into account ghost heat actually. It would take longer... Seems 2x LPL isn't that equivalent to 12 ERML's, or 3 LL's.
Or 3 LL's at 15 tons, 450 range, 11 shots. 77 heat. 99 damage. Not sure how long it would take; pulse was easy since you could alpha 2 until it was time to just fire 1. I'm not good at mathing out how long it takes, so I dropped into test mode and counted. About 14 seconds, with the cooldown skill.

Feel free to correct my maths if they're messed up somewhere. I'm not a doctor of maths, I only known one.

Criticizing Paul doesn't get you in K-Town. The (perceived) tone and content, on the other hand...

And with that said, Stock Nova Prime's a flaming toaster. Always was, always has been, it's just worse now. And it WILL melt you down if you alpha, now, regardless of map. Unless you can actually survive it in a cold map while elited.

So, poor trial users aside, if you don't like piloting a toaster, rebuild the mech to your pleasure. :)

And my bad, the Hunchback has 12 DHS not 10, but I made it nearly the same heat efficiency, which I felt was better.

If you disagree, I can rebuild it and make a video on 10 DHS with the 9 Medium Pulse Lasers.

~33 minutes left currently on the 12 DHS 9P

I think it's closer to compare a 9ERML Nova to a 9ML HBK, even tho the is ML is 2 heat less.
One could even argue to use 7ERML and 23DHS and still do more damage with the Nova.

Nova: 9ERML, 21DHS, plus JJ http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b730a747ad15afd
hbk: 9ML, 18DHS, plus 7kph http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d595e6bd2c3192c
closer Nova with 7erML, 23DH and JJ http://mwo.smurfy-ne...354199a2ad54f18

If the IS had ERML's, we'd have something to compare them to. Right now, it's apples to oranges, so you have to go with the next closest weapon... Which is LL.

I don't think Smerfy was updated to show heat changes this patch. I could be wrong.

Excuse me, sir.

Have you played a Nova Prime? In any game, ever?

Even back at its introduction in tabletop, it was an EasyBake Oven that made pilot steaks. You've never been able to fire a Nova Prime's full energy alpha without hating your own life, in any BattleTech medium, ever.

We get it. Novas run hot. What's your actual point?

Perhaps that they run a little too hot? Seems obvious to me.

No comparison because the hunchback has massively better hitboxes, is much smaller and alot more agile. You got to compare everything when your looking at balance. Damage output is only part of the equation.
