The battletech universe has always had more than one aspect, i.e., more than just the mech jocks. You have your soldiers, armored vehicles, aerospace pilots, gunners for garrison guns, elementals...to name a few. Limiting the gameplay to being a mech warrior only and piloting mechs only, leads me to believe we are going to end up with another stagnant game that will go by the wayside as quickly as the last one did.

Storylines, plots, intrigue, house fighting, invasion by clansman, the starleague, trying to find parts, getting a good tech, being a good tech, pilotting an aerospace fighter into the think of a mech battle and supporting your side, weaving a hovercraft through the battle legs of mechs grabbing soldiers, running towards a mech towering over you with a sholder fired missle trying to get that one good shot without being stepped on, going into the local pub after bringing a mech in with a convoy and getting a drink and possibly a bar brawl......the list goes on of options that would make game play alot more interesting.

Please invest the time and effort to make this a game to rival and surpass WoW. I know of hundreds of people myself, that would gladly stop paying for that game and start paying monthly fees for a Battletech game play worth playing. It boils down to invest the time now, reap the profits for the effort......

I think that the developers should focus on making the best possible 'Mech experience before trying to bring various other vehicles in. Also, I don't think there'd be a huge portion of the casual players (which will no doubt make up a big chunk of the player group) who would rather drive a Bulldog or what-have-you when they could be driving an Atlas, considering that 'Mechs are very, very hard to stop with conventional weapons, at least in the previous Mechwarriors.

I know they've already said vehicles are out, but they may bring them in later. As for the use of vehicles, play a round of MWLL. Once Demolishers and Myrmidons are out and about, it's very dangerous for anything smaller than a Heavy 'Mech. And don't get me started on the fire-bombing aerospace fighters. Pristine Uziel-->firebomb-->crippled Uziel limping back to base. Anything lighter just ceases to exist.

My point being, conventional vehicles are more dangerous than the MW games thus far have made them. Heck, with AI, they just sort of shot in your general direction. If anything, it would be good to implement them with advanced AI and tied in with the Commander role to direct their movements. Tank columns, LRM carriers rolling up beside Catapults, aerospace fighters strafing the battlefield and flushing out opponents, and Long Tom artillery (and Arrow/Thunderbolt missiles) raining down death at the signal of a human pilot.

Hopefully they won't let it get outa hand , like the old MSN Game Zone did . It got tobe so bad with having to download maps , then teams within teams and then hacking . Stand behind a wall and get shot by your oppenent on the other side , or walking through mountains . That one probly was the best one .

I think that is something was done, like Mechwarrior 2: mercenaries, where there were a couple Aerospce fightes and a few other little vehicles, it would add a lot to the game. Maybe to start out they were just AI, but down the road they could make them in to player controlled things. Whether it is just having some be controlled by people or actually allowing people to control them, I am not sure it would matter.

I think in time it would be nice to see them.
