First off, though im not happy about the new game, I think PGI has a great opportunity here to really out do Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous. In all the books Battletech had some serious space balls. We are talking to the point of 100 ships dueling broadsides, aero fighters threading the needle between jumpship sails, drop ships assaulting cruisers.

Combine the two so that ship battles are needed to fight before ground forces hit planets and you will surpass Star Citizen. Just read the 2nd Twilight of the Clans book when Victor Davion attacks a Clan Ghost Bear fleet.

As far as you needing to make more money. Drop the prices of mechs down to $5 per mech. People will gladly spend $15 to buy 3 mechs instead of grinding them or paying $30 for 1 hero mech. Drop the cost of paint camos down as well.

Rofl - outdo SC or ED? Methinks absolutely not.

The next game will be nothing more than another cash generating spin.

EDIT: IBTL too. Watch this thread be deleted from the main page and I fully expect to get a mod ban for posting anything negative about their next game. Sandpit, Roadbeer and a ton of others have been mod "reviewed" and can't post.

Aerotech is a niche of a niche that already got milked. Best case scenario it would be as cheesy as jets in BF3 since cryengine can't handle a map bigger than about 4k x 4k without massive framerate problems

There's so many space sims now, trying to ride Star Citizen's coattails. Elite Dangerous isn't the only alternative. PGI is both late to the party and hideously out-gunned compared to bigger companies, like Gaijin Entertainment.

I can't imagine why they thought this was a good idea right now. Doesn't matter if they go arcade, realism or MMO. It's been done or is already being done.

The game seems to center in 2 factions humans and androids.. i doubt it's anything related to aerotech.. so just wait until they disclose anything else.

+1 for aerotech

If they had this and a cyberpnk theme...... It would spring Mechwarrior and Battletech to a new level. Thats a huge step but the ground battle are great, it definately should have more to it than we do now for sure. Whats next a movie? and you know what, if done well that would be awsome.

How the hell would they "out-do those two? Star Citizen has more money than god, and Elite Dangerous is made by people with a long history and experience in the Space Sim game type...PGI certainly hasn't made MWO to the level that was hyped imitially, and now you're thinking a web page with a ticking time line is promise of a great game?

That's the most ridiculous statement I've read in...quite a while...

They had their shot, they got plenty of my money. I don't see any reason to expect success in this new endeavor they're working on. I'm sure you'll be able to buy things for the cockpit however.

Huzza we get another epic (player-driven, persistent-world), online (MMORPG) sci-fi (in a science fiction space setting) game.

Heaven sake these guys just live on an island.
