What are your thoughts about PGI, MWO, and the new project?
I want to hear from individual users on the matter.

I personally think it is a terrible idea. First of all it seems their only audience would be MWO players that visit the forums or the social media that Bryan and Niko visit. This means that their current audience knows of PGI's reputation. If they launch some sort of Founder program I doubt there will be many supporters.
Also, if this a space game unrelated to BT then it is likely to fail compared to Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous unless it has some significant difference to make it special. Even if that is possible, can the pace and quality of development maintain interest in the game.
I'm pretty sure that they're going to reuse MWO assets in this new game of theirs. Likely use the sames system that the Mechs are using but modified to fit space ships. This likely means that they will have a head start on development and can work on some kind of story line or game features past a basic space arena game.
In terms of space sims, I'm married to Star Citizen and will not be spending any money on this new game of theirs. I did sign up, just to check it out in the off chance that it does turn out to be amazing. But still, no money. That will only happen for MWO if they manage to step it up.

I kinda think that they are only doing this to make a competing game but Then again........ Take into the account the people making the game. They feel just like we do, they have interest and favorite things. Maybe they just want to make a space game. It doesn't always have to be for the sake of Another game. I think with MWO they wanted to revive a franchise. With this new game it may be a different story.
Its not pitching people's money yet so rest easy. As for the core audience, i dont see how they are going to advertise past MWO players, but then again all you need is a small player base.

I get that they may have a love for these things, but is it practical? If they can't get a large enough player base to support the game it will end up wasted effort and funds. I just think that the time, effort and money going into AUTE would be better spent making MWO a better game. MWO needs to be "completed," they need to make amends with the players, try and fix up their reputation so that maybe people will feel better about supporting a new PGI game.

MWO is going to be completed, where have you been? CW association came out in August. A date that was estimated in the State of the I.S. So phase 2 will be here in October, Then the game will be near-complete. The only thing left to do will be to make maps and mechs. Maybe other cosmetics and some game balancing if need but hopefully not.
I am not saying whether or not this is a good move or not, or what have you. I am saying its way to late in the year for people to have their heads stuck in October of 2013. If you have been around this year, and seen the progress you would know when things are coming out and they come out when they were labeled to come out.
For the sake of saying so. I really do not want to hear about anything about 2013 or promises. It is 9/7/2014. Last year October was supposed to be the date. It was not so this year October date of release has been backed by Constant work on major features. So doubt at this point is ego not logic.
What else can they do for you at this point besides release CW in full flesh or at least with further work to be done. What else can they do? what else do you want? from my understanding one of the main reasons why founders where mad was because they were promised CW, now its coming but your adding on the the list. So what more? need your feet kissed with apologies? As far as i am concerned if CW doesn't get you guys to change demeanor nothing will so PGI need not waste their breath or time convincing. At this point I feel the game has been moving more away from those bleak views but the players have not moved with the game.
I just dont understand, I cant understand. At this point I dont care. At this point I am tired. At this point I realize conversing does little. I do not understand that I have been hearing all this crap about them because they Missed CW and yet when we know and see its coming its just the same story. I find I just waste my time on threads and conversations like these. you are going to get nothing but the same opinions from the same people and the occasional troll accounts, These topics dont bring Constructive discussion, they never do. They just bring ill feelings and attacks to people of differing opinions, as if people never had a discussion with a person of differing opinions without yelling.
Prove me wrong, and then we will have a discussion. No bias man.

PGI has a bad reputation in many circles. They're also still relatively unknown.
MWO is truly a fun, if limited, game; but with some major pitfalls and has suffered some major delays.
A new space game in 2015 will be up to it's neck in competition from bigger and more well known studios. Whatever the gameplay is for the new game, it had better be something fresh and offers a play experience we can't find in any of the plethora of other space titles that are on the horizon.

@ Bloodwolf
I don't know when you started this game. You may have been lucky and got in at the point where things were getting better. Almost every founder or supporter is going to have a different opinion on why the game is or is not the game they imagined it to be. Some of that can't be helped, but you cannot stop it. PGI has done the damage and it is going to linger.
In the beginning, when they said that CW was only 90 days away my thoughts were "what could be next?" New game modes, single player campaign, Historical battles such as "Battle of Luthien" and "Battle of Tukayyid." The fact is, they were slow, made bad decisions, things got pushed back, and now we may never see the dreams we once had for MWO ever come to fruition.
We still don't have CW yet. We have unit creation, a tiny fraction of the large amount of work necessary for CW. All this allows us to do is recognize units within the game. We can't do anything meaningful past earn C-Bills for our units. We still can't take over planets or fight for factions past representing them based on an image of the faction logo. I'm not saying it is not coming. They have said it could take up till late fall to complete it. Essentially, we SHOULD already be playing CW and have moved on to other new and great things.
Regardless, this is not the discussion I wish to partake in. I'd like to hear people's opinions on PGI and the creation of their new team and game. It would be interesting to know if there are any folks who support this.
