I understand people are frustrated but this game is still a lot of fun. They just need to stick to their time table, clean up the balance a bit (even the most negative among us have to admit it is better than when it first started), and get some more maps.
I am not going to look into their new game more buy any more content in this game though until some of these near time frame targets are met.

Pretty easy to fund a new game with all the cash grabs MWO has had up to this point.
I'm not shocked at all, to be honest. We are barely ahead of "beta" status, and development has basically been a slow trickle of mechs that are already released to those who put money up front, giving PGI an excuse to delay the inevitable "Sorry, we are no longer supporting this game." I don't expect community warfare to be anything more than "Ok, you guys have organized teams that fly under one clan/unit name this is what you wanted right? Mark that goal as complete and get back to playing your 12v12 deathmatches!"

MechWarrior Online's incredibly successful Founder's Program proved that we can work directly with our backers to help build a game for the community.
On Sep 9th, 2014 at 12:00PM PDT we invite you to join us for the reveal of our next project. It's a big one, it's going to be the largest production ever undertaken here at Piranha, and we want YOU to be part of it.

yes, You said never START playing again. But if it is so much pain, why continue, is what I ask? Seriously? It's not an attack on you, an attempt at be snarky, humorous, etc. There are several posters, who only post criticism and negativity (some of which is legitimately justified, not denying).
What I fail to grasp, apparently, is the mindset behind it. If something is so terrible, and I hate it, and everything associated with it so much, I don't understand spending time playing it, or haunting the forums complaining about it. I get those who make constructive criticism, in some hope or belief it may improve the game. But most of the extreme negativity (which your post, while less vitriolic than most, still qualifies as) are far past considering anything to be salvageable here, so why waste time being around something that makes you so miserable?
IDK, if I get that down on something, I move on and do something that makes me happy, instead.

and yet ,you didnt like his post and didnt move on....is that irony?

You can pretty much guarantee that if and when this new game is up and running, they will shut this game down. They will probably deny it but that's what will happen.
I've seen it happen.I was a long time vet of a game called Star Wars Galaxies (7 years,Elder Jedi, yadada). When Bioware announced SWTOR Lucasarts and SOE promised they would keep both games running. So what happened?6 months before the release of SWTOR they pulled the plug on Galaxies.
So I don't trust games companies when it comes to promises.

I really like the combat in Mechwarrior online (best out there) and everything else in the game is well done, but they have to make huge additions to it before I would spend time on another completely different uncompleted game from the same makers to be totally honest.
This is all relative, so I am waiting to see the big reveal and go from there.

Guess they thought competing with Star Citizen was a good idea
At least they could have used the Aerotech background in Battletech to make this...
...It's like watching a house burn.

I have not many good responses to comments about Star Citizen mostly because they are all hot air like the game itself at this time.
It would be easy to mistake me for someone who doesnt like that game.
I actually hope it does well because I want to see a great space sim game come out, but the fact remains nothing star citizen has out has impressed me much so far other than some mediocre hype.
Its a wait and see for me and some realistic commentary to the SC trolls on this forum.
BTW if anyone thinks SC raising 50 million is alot of money, then they know nothing.

MWO is essentially hot air also however. It's a half complete game that does nothing well but shoot out more mini-dlcs while maintaining a shoddy basis for the game overall (poor number of maps, no real support for CW or even ladder games...
As for success, sure, that would be great if they made a good space sim, I'm not rooting against them, however I simply don't expect much because they're done a poor job IMO with MWO. It's a DLC supermarket, not a good Mechwarrior game IMO.
As for the house burn statement, I've been a fan of battletech since nearly it's beginning. I don't see much hope for it growing, and this makes me sad, it's been a part of my life for a long time.
