Let's be honest. While some of the patterns are pretty good, a lot come off...uninspired.

Admittedly, making skins to be fit on dozens to hundreds of machines and combos, is somewhat laborious. And while I would prefer not to walk around with "Jones" on my torso, I LOVE the skin on the St Ives Blues, which is totally Deputy Dawg (minus the Urbanmech).

That said, in many areas, it seems like there is a serious lack of inspiration. For instance, I would pay in a heart beat, to get faction correct Parade Paint Schemes, like Davion Guards, Kell Hounds, etc.

My number one desire, ATM? I want a turtle shell pattern, so I can make my Adder look like a Koopa Troopa.

I want a Tron pattern camo to go with the new factory map.

Royal Harrier, not the MW4 Royal Harrier, but the green and blue stripe with white belly found on RAF and USMC Harrier GR.1/AV-8A Jump Jets.

Yeah, I'd love that. However, I'd also want glowy stripes which might not be conducive to my survivability. :P

Personally, I like the asymmetric patterns like the Buccaneer. I wish we'd see more of those, even if they're not necessarily thematic so much as there's different color block configurations.

I also really, really wish they'd put in decals to further distinguish our mechs. You know: wolf's head, a Speed Racer/old school racing style number, a shamrock, etc.

This isnt Path of Exile where you can go to the suggestion forum and get told a month later that your idea for a skill skin has been approved and will be sold for anyone willing to pay cash for it.

edit, to be fair it must be a hell of a job to skin all the fkin mech, must be why half are stuck at a messy low rez.

No, no it's not. But believe it or not, Devs do read things, and ideas never hurt. Russ already tweeted he liked my Koopa Troopa camo idea.

It would be really awesome if they would give us a way to design our own camo patterns for our mechs. And if they add Koopa Troopa paint I would totally buy an Adder.

Sad that we don't have any new patterns announced, hopefully having the existing ones unlocked for Clans might spawn some more interest in patterns full stop.

Of all the things PGI has monetized... You would think that they'd have cornered the market on full faction / Unit / house skin packages.

Seems like a no brainer but... then again... :P

I have to admit, i haven't been impressed much with many of the past paint jobs. Unlike maps, I'd like to think player made paints would be a good thing...but at the same time, I'd be concerned if we had too many custom paint jobs since they inevitable cause lag or increased load times every stinking match as our clients download the appropriate texture file.

If it's too open a process, we'll have guys replacing all mech paints with systems targeting/"shoot here" re-paints and hi-vis colors(if they haven't done so already).

That being said, if they did allow player re-paints, they'd only have to provide blank templates for us to edit...that would be fun since I could technically do this while I'm waiting for a new gaming rig to play on.

The "Invasion" pre-order paint scheme can look like Tron lines if you go black and a bright color for the highlight line.

Speaking of changing colors on unchangeable patterns... Many of the heroes have very different capabilities of the other mechs of their chassis type. For mechs like the Yen-Lo-Wang and Jester I recommend painting the mech all one color. A monocolor YLW is almost indistinguishable from a CN9-A or CN9-D, and Jester looks like a K2 until it jumps.

I notice them on my Invasion mechs too, and my Hunchback 4J also sport a Tron-ish paint job.

MC Camo sometime get to have special effects, like how the Cobra camo have a layer of chrome finish.
So a Tron camo should have the lines glow in the dark, like how Atlas' eye used to be.

Yes, I'd love new patterns based on parade and faction colours. Just looking through the game's texture files I can see it'd be a lot work to add them for each 'Mech, but I'd easily pay for new patterns that reflected the lore. And, you know... they could always, I dunno, look towards the community for help with pattern/texture map generation... just sayin... :P

One of my great hopes for both achievements and CW was the earning of factional schemes and colors.

Some other games do it (minecraft, etc). But PGI's servers probably have enough problems as it is...

Sherman/Soviet camo is one of the simplest, yet awesome skins.

However, it needs to be balanced with a Wehrmacht camo. Note: Iron Cross is mandatory.

I'd really love to see a Lego guy with as the Commando with the Yellow head with a cheezy beard and battle scars and a nasty look. lol

I also would LOVE to see D Day Normandy Invasion Stripes on some mechs. Aircraft paints from WWI, and WWII. The German Camo's they used in WWI were absolutely Beautiful. The Lozengee Camo from Fokker DVII's. Also I think the flag in the Cockpits of all the countries represented could be a potentual new Mech Skin.

ALSO I'd love to see something Girly too lol. There isnt anything except Sarahs Jenner skin that is cute :( Something like Sucker Punch, that huge Bunny on their robot or Power Puff Girls.
