I'm sure the devs considered something so simple before offering this feature.

1) To financially support a game I really am looking forward to playing
2) So I have the extra C-Bill earning capability to use if I ever find myself cash poor in game
3) Guaranteed early access, baby!

I went with the Hunchback because I'm going pure medium, and I didn't feel like paying for it with C-bills.
A buddy of mine went with the Atlas not because he plans on driving it all the time, but because it's one of the iconic 'mechs of MW/BT.
Chances are good I'll be in a 'Cada or a 'Buche more often than the Hunch...and I plan on using the Centurion the most.

Odds are, given a choice, I'd be playing a Catapult. There are others that I'll drive, just because there are others that I'm interested in... but the Catapult would be my main.
How is that any different now that I have a Founder's Cat?

Hear that wooshing sound?

It's not going to hurt anything except someone's feelings.

I just hope (nope.avi) that mwo has systems in place to prevent the derp, and people have the decency to not take advantage of glitches and bugs just to get a couple extra c-bills.

I'm more worried about new premium mechs with outstanding status that might get recognized as better towards standard ones and get used widely , as seen in WoT with Lowe and Type59 that both needed to be removed from game to balance it ; hope MWO won't do that kind of stuff in long run

The founders mechs will not provide any direct combat advantages over the opposition outside of giving more C-Bills.

Personally I think it should be a 50% boost to CB on the mech like WOT premium tanks.

"Well in a year or two... clan omni's and such...."
I also like the one's acting like the 25% bonus in C-Bills aren't gonna influence people. Are you kidding? 25% is a lot. Every 4 games you get a whole other game's worth of C-Bills assuming your account isn't on the monthly boost. Even then it's still very substantial. And we have no idea how bad the grind is in this game, if the currency grind for items/mechs is anything comparable to Tribes 2, you bet people are gonna feel forced to use their founder's Atlas instead of another assault mech of similar spec that fulfills the same exact role. They may hate their atlas, but they're still gonna play that founder's mech so they can get that new mech that just came out faster, or pay their repair bills for the mechs they actually like using/playing.
And it's not even a good business model. PGI gets nothing out of people using their founder's mech they bought a year ago. The only thing that could replace it is a mech that has an even bigger passive bonus, and that would be a pretty dirty move/PR blunder. The mechs should of had some other bonus or no bonus at all, it would fulfill the same intent of selling more founder's packs.

In WoT I don't like to play to play my premium tanks for credit/c-bill grind
Lowe makes me money but it is boring to play now
Some of the lower tier (my tier 3 german light) I play because I just love the way it plays
The Premiums where out in force for several months when the game went live
Now you don't see them in any amount
The type 59 shows some still
So in well under a year expect thew foiunders mech to show up few and far between
Even when Clan Wars started the T8 heavie premiums made a showing
Now if you want to win they are not there
And this game will have MUCH more skill than mech wieght
In WoT a T1 can not hurt a T10
Here 90% of the Lights will be able to cause damage if not even kill a heavy
Even easier to kill a lone Assualt that is brave( stupid) and wants to run out alone and kill you all because he is bigger
Team work is important in WoT
Here it is VITIAL
Oh and if you stink in a mech
I don't care if its a founders mech or a regular
Your team is not down a mech and you have made them unhappy with you
You will make credits less than a better player
It is better to back up and live
Than stand alone bravely and die
