So you have to buy a war hawk pack and a man o war pack to get a mad dog. Am I reading that right?

PGI just made the mad dog into a troll face mech.

That's if you want the 30% C-Bill boost invasion variant. You can still get it for C-Bills when it's later released for C-Bills.

Yeah but the way it was phrased why the mad dog is in that position is unsettling that PGI is hurting for money and had to hide the mad dog till months later to make ends meet. "Yes obviously the Mad Dog requires a significant investment and I would have given that away for free as well if I could but there are financial limitations."

I mean why does it matter to guys if the mad dog was the same price as the other clan mech's. Unless you get off from having your exclusive toys. Some people just don't want other mech's and shouldn't be made to buy mechs they'd never use you know the reason Ala Carte was made. Also that 30% more cbills on the only mech you'd use it a pretty big incentive with CW coming and needing big bucks to afford dropships/bids etc.

But give me my gawddamnned Couger, or even the retro and out-dated Coyolt!

Mist Lynx: a 25 ton clan mech with a speed of 118 and has ample jump jets. One variant packs an ECM in the left arm. The mech has no torso weapons and loads the bulk of its firepower in the right arm, however. At least it is a scout mech for the Clans, however.

Ice Ferret: A 45 ton clan mech with insane 130 kph speed. Modestly armed with only around 9 tons of pod space, and not jump capable. It is a good match for the Cicada, sans ECM.

Hellbringer: 65 tons of fun. Moves as fast as the other clan heavies, but the Prime brings an ECM to the party making it the first heavy mech with an ECM. It pays for it, however, being roughly 5 tons under armored and way under sinked stock. Even so, you can fix the armor, install the ECM, and still should have around 24 tons to work with. I forsee myself rocking this beasty.

Gargoyle: Personally, I view it as a piece of junk. 80 tons, with an XL400. That said, it IS an 80 tonner moving around 95 after speed tweak. It has about as much room for guns as the Summoner, however. A blitz mech, but otherwise meh.

Mad Dog: The 60 ton Bonus Mech. Packing a similarly disproportionate amount of firepower as the Hellbringer with ammo and some armor issues, it nonetheless is a solid missile platform. You are looking at the mech to carry 6 A-SRM6 and 4 ERMLas, for example (though I am probably going with 6x A-SRM4 instead). It will be the first released for c-bills from the second wave, but you can get it early if you have both the Warhawk and the Gargoyle pack.

Overall? Pleased. Not entirely sure how I can salvage the Gargoyle. Seems like a mech designed to get into people's faces and smash them in. I counted: You can get up to 11 energy weapons on the sucker. 2 in the CT, 6 in the RA, and 3 in the LA by cherry picking. the 20-21 tons of pod space once you fix the armor, which is only slightly low, is extremely difficult to work with, however. Perhaps it will become the Clan WubShe?

Do you realize how much free stuff they are giving away? KGC, AS7-S, CN9, cockpit items, and Cbills. You are gonna complain?

Dude they can keep all the free stuff they are giving me they can take my hero's and warhawks and everything else I've bought I'd drop the 120 for the man-o-war pack alone and not want any of those mechs either just to have the mad dog. Sorry you can't see that some have a like for A mech and having to get a bunch of fluff to be able to get it without having to wait month's is kind of lame.

Could you point to where I ever complained about the free mech's they are giving by the way? Kind of weird to make an argument to me on something I've never said. Let me try "Hey 101011 Samsung offers great price/performance why do you always tell people to go apple?"

Dude, this is the MWO community. Russ could crap bricks made of gold, send one to every player of MWO, fix every outstanding issue in the game, and someone is still going to complain.

Probably about how smelly ass gold is, or that it isn't platinum, but the point is there is no making this community happy. Those who are accustomed to discontentment will find a way to stay upset.

Yep. Left Arm ECM option. But it has nothing in that particular arm but an ECM and one AMS. The other arm will carry all the other guns, and either you go with two energy hardpoints or two missile and an energy hardpoint. Bit limited, and a lot of eggs in one basket. It pays for that ECM arm hard. :\

I see the gargoyle bringing potential for clan drop decks that are not slowed to a crawl by their assaults. You will be out tonned severely (though 3-4 timberwolves and 3-4 storm crows helps balance that lol) but oh man a 12 man unit under ECM pushing at 89 is darn fierce.

You share my tenacious striker thoughts...

UAC/LBX20 + 4ERMLs will be brutally effective.

More space for weapons than a Timber. ECM. 86kph, 91 if twerking. With some pod trickery can be turned into a LB-X/SRM crit-hunter. If the armor isn't too thin, if that CT bulge isn't too much of a hindrance, and the quirks come out favorable... this 'Mech and the Mad Dog with it's similar brawling potential will turn the lights on in the club real fast. Spheroids are gonna need that King Crab.

I'm hopeful. Unless I'm mistaken, the Gargoyle's release will mark the fastest Assault 'Mech in MW:O. I never used in TT that much because I preferred to run fast Heavy lances, but the few times I did it's ability to use that speed and get into rear arcs was a real advantage. I think scaling, hitboxes, and (again) quirks will make or break this one. If it has a low enough profile... it could be serious trouble.

How I felt as the mad dog was announced thinking this is awesome I like the way the games heading I don't mind buying the man-o-war pack even though those 4 mech's will sit forever unused to show some $120 support and get the Mad Dog since I got ala carte wave 1.

Posted Image
How I felt reading $120 wouldn't even get me close to the mech I wanted since I signed up when mwo was announced.

Over it now though guess I'll just play some more.

Of course, i could not like all of your opinions about 'Mechs, quineg? :P

I look forward to the Gargoyle, i am very excited and i want to see it in-game ASAP! As it is the last 'Mech of the pack, it will be released after January *a lone tear finds its way on my face* :(

Seriously. I think you should reconsider it. Now, i have not its record sheet on sight, but once you max the armor it should have the armor of any 80 tonner. As someone said, finally we will get an Assault 'Mech that does not terribly slow down a heavy Star, while providing the armor to support a push and even a potential "scary" aspect like the Atlas or Banshee, for an awe-inspiring sight on the battlefield. Besides, at first people might not know how to deal with such a fast assault. A Clan mate i trust for his "scientific" analyses said he tried a Highlander , if i am not mistaken, with a big ass engine making it go quite fast, and that was exactly what he said was happening in his test runs.

Oh, and if i remember correctly, in MWO the agility of a 'Mech depend on engine size.. It could be entirely possible that we have an Assault turning, tilting, and running as fast or faster than any IS Medium lol.

I would try both keeping a more damage over time-oriented configuration switching the LBX-5s with UAC/5s, or try a "blitzkrieg" close-range configuration (LBX10 and SRMs? Never dies!) and has a GREAT potential for energy builds. Sure, we have no need to save ammo, but you can always mount some lasers and there is even a standard config with ERPPCs.

However, it might be harder to use in 1vs1 with a more armed Assault, but i think it could use its agility to its great advantage.
No wonder it is the most common Assault 'Mech in Clan Wolf's Touman.

Now i am giving you too many ideas.. :P
